Solar Power Up events
District 622 received a $673,000 grant from the Minnesota Department of Commerce Solar for Schools Program to install solar at Carver, Justice Alan Page, and Richardson Elementary Schools.
We are also working with Xcel Energy’s Solar Reward Program to add solar panels to ten additional Xcel-served buildings throughout the district over the next three years. Castle and Eagle Point are already actively using solar panels for renewable energy.
Cap and Gown Parades
Revisit your elementary school in your cap and gown on Tuesday, June 3. Gather at the school at 1:45 p.m., ready to go in your cap and gown. The parades will take place at 2 p.m. You will be done by 2:30 p.m., at which time you should plan to leave so the students can get back to class. A large group photo will be taken for use in a video that will be shared after the parades. Have fun!
**Note: **
Former Oakdale students: Please go to Castle; your 5th-grade teachers are there!
Former Skyview and Webster students: Find your former teachers by visiting the 622 Staff Directory webpage and attend the parade at that school.
Eagle Point grads: Park at Hope Church.

Tartan Choir Wins Competition
Last Friday, May 23, the Tartan Concert Choir received Best in Show at the annual Trills and Thrills Competition, beating every other choir who attended this 3-day long, international festival with a score of 99/100! One of the adjudicators described Tartan's performance as something "truly special and consistently excellent." The students competed against choirs from all over the upper Midwest and Canada. They celebrated the win with an afternoon at Valley Fair. Go Titans!

Community Resources
Measles and the MMR vaccine
Minnesota has identified cases of measles in children who recently returned to the U.S. after traveling internationally. The decline in measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine coverage, coupled with the increase in measles disease nationally and internationally, puts Minnesota at risk of additional measles cases and a measles outbreak.
MDH has information about measles and the MMR vaccine: https://www.health.state.mn.us/diseases/measles/measlesfacts.html
If your child has any symptoms, please contact your medical provider and school nurse.
Ramsey County Vaccination Clinics
Ramsey County is offering vaccinations clinics. More information can be found on the Ramsey County website.
Washington County Vaccination Clinics
Washington County is offering monthly vaccination clinics. Appointments can be scheduled on the Washington County website.
