Parent Drop Off In the AM
Dear Parents/Guardians,
We kindly ask for your cooperation in following our designated drop-off procedures to ensure the safety and efficiency of our school operations. Please use the designated drop-off line that wraps around the school. Avoid parking in the staff parking lot or dropping off students in front of the building during regular drop-off times which are between the times of 7:40-7:55am. These actions can create congestion for staff members trying to park and for buses arriving later in the morning to drop off students.
If you arrive after 7:55 a.m., you may drop off your child at the front of the building, as all other doors will be locked for the rest of the school day. The main office entrance will remain accessible.
Thank you for your understanding and support in keeping our drop-off process safe and smooth for everyone.
Sincerely,
John Telloni
Principal

Iowa Algebra Aptitude Test
SMS teachers are in the process of recommending students to take the Iowa Algebra Aptitude test to determine the best middle school math placement for students and assess readiness for the rigors of an Honors math class. However, parents do have the option to request that their student take this test as well.
If your student is not currently in an honors or advanced 6th or 7th grade math class and you wish for your student to be considered for an accelerated math course, please complete this form. Students who are entered into this form will be given the opportunity to test to see if they are able to be considered for this path. The test will be administered mid-January. Please finalize your request by January 6, 2025. Thank you.

Please remind your child to handle their Chromebook carefully, as any damage may lead to consequences, including potential fees for repairs. We appreciate your cooperation in ensuring that they maintain the device properly.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. Together, we can ensure a positive learning environment for all our schools.
