4th grade musical: A Kid's Life
A massive electromagnetic attack from outer space has jammed all technical systems, and there is no electricity, no cell phones, no technology which means – NO FUN! The kids are in a panic and don't know what to do, until Grandpa and Grandma arrive on the scene and introduce them to a day filled with adventure, music and imagination – all without fancy gadgets!
4th graders will perform on Thursday March 7 at 6:30pm in the OHS auditorium.
Kindergarten musical: A Barnyard Moosical
"A Barnyard Moosical" is a hilarious and imaginative mini-musical about a unique and talented group of animals living at this unusual farm. You will experience gourmet goats making the finest goat cheese pizza, a chorus line of hoofing cows, very clean and tidy pigs and funky dancing chickens. Our Kindergarteners are sure to amaze you with their adorable dance moves and precious singing voices.
Kindergartens will perform on Monday March 25th at 6:30pm in the OHS auditorium.
Attendance Matters!
Arriving to school on time is crucial. The doors open at 8:15 and the tardy bell rings at 8:40, just before daily announcements begin! Students must be INSIDE the building before 8:40 to avoid being marked late.
Attendance is essential for scholastic success. The compulsory attendance laws of Missouri require district resident children between the ages of 7 and 16 years old to attend school. If a child will be absent for any reason, a parent/guardian should notify the school office and send in a doctor's note if applicable.
Lunch Menu & Related Arts Days
Sunday 3/17 is the last day to order a yearbook!
Portrait of a Graduate
Throughout the year, South focuses on nine character traits that we want all students in Ozark Public Schools to have mastered by the time they graduate. Each month we focus on one of the Portrait of a Graduate words. Classroom teachers nominate one student from their class who best exhibits that character trait. South then recognizes those students with an all-school assembly in which their parents are invited to attend. Out of the twenty-eight students nominated, one student is chosen as "Top Tiger" and is recognized at the monthly Ozark School board meeting for going above and beyond displaying the character trait.
Community “Family” Time
Each grade level will continue to experience family time on their assigned day. This will be part of their weekly routine. Just a reminder, this time is for students and teachers "grade level families." The schedule will continue as follows:
Day 1 - Fourth Grade
Day 2 - Third Grade
Day 3 - Second Grade
Day 4 - First Grade
Day 5 - Kindergarten
Wellness Information for Birthdays & Celebrations
Attention Parents:
We know you want to celebrate your child’s birthday, and we want to celebrate with you! However, this year any food provided for students outside of the meal programs must also meet federal nutrition guidelines. That means any food brought into the classroom for celebrations, parties, and snack time must meet the guidelines.
Here is a list of nutritional snacks that can be used for classroom celebrations - https://bit.ly/HealthySnackExamples
We appreciate your help in following our district wellness plan for our students. You may also consider a non-food alternative to celebrate a birthday, such as stickers, pencils, bubbles, sidewalk chalk etc. Providing a non-food item helps our students who have dietary restrictions feel included.
