Wiggin Street Parent Update

Families,

We hope you had a wonderful Labor Day weekend! We ended last week with all the Kindergarten student in the building on Friday. As you will see, they have had a lot of support from their 3rd Grade Buddies. We appreciate the leadership that the 3rd grade has shown and their willingness to help Kindergarten get acclimated to Wiggin Street.

One exciting event this week was the delivery of new pea gravel to keep students safe on the playground. Since we have an abundance of green space on our playground, we were able to hold recess outside, and everyone enjoyed watching the truck positioned by the driver using a remote control device. The real life experience showed another great use of technology.

We have our first PTO meeting for the year on Tuesday in the library at 5:00. Our PTO, Friends of Wiggin Street, is an integral part of what makes us Wiggin Street. We would love to have more members!

Our Fall Mumkin sale starts this week, and more information is to come. This is a great way to decorate for fall and support our school. The mumkins get delivered to our school and then pick up is after school which makes it very convenient for parents.

Mrs. Treber and Mrs. Eilbacher were at the Kenyon Student Involvement Fair at the Lowry Center this Saturday. They met Kenyon students that are new and also returning that want to volunteer their time at Wiggin Street. We are blessed to have hundreds of Kenyon students that grace our halls each year to simply offer their service to students. We can't wait to see them return this week!

Finally, Water Day will be this Wednesday for students who participated in our summer reading program and turned in their reading log. If your child participated, but didn't turn in their reading log yet, please let us know before Wednesday. Also, if you are interested in volunteering, we could use more help. Feel free to join us! Volunteers will be helping between 12:00-3:30 pm.
