Developing life-long learners through positive collaboration
A Message from the Principal's Office
Dear MCE Parents,
As we begin 2025, I want to take a moment to express my sincere appreciation for your continued support of MCE and its mission. Your involvement in our school community is essential to the success of our students, and we are grateful to have such a dedicated group of parents working alongside us to foster a positive and enriching educational environment.
At MCE, our mission remains focused on developing lifelong learners through positive collaboration. This goal is made possible by the strong partnership between our staff, families, and the broader community. Together, we are creating a learning environment where students feel supported, inspired, and motivated to grow both academically and personally.
In this update, you’ll find highlights from the past month, as well as a preview of exciting upcoming events. We are looking forward to building on the momentum we’ve created and having another productive and successful year ahead.
If you have any questions about these events or other school-related matters, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher.
Thank you once again for your continued support. I look forward to another year of collaboration and growth.
Wishing you all a wonderful start to the new year!
Warm regards,
Dr. Jacob
Principal, Montgomery City Elementary
What's Been Happening at MCE?
Coats for Kids
We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the Montgomery City Knights of Columbus for their generous donation of "Coats for Kids." Each year, they provide over 30 winter coats to the students of Montgomery City Elementary. These coats are loaned to students who forget their recess coats or are given to those in need of a warm coat. Thanks to their continued support, we are able to meet the needs of our students and ensure that everyone stays warm and comfortable throughout the winter months.
We are truly grateful for their ongoing commitment to our community!

Holiday Shoppe
The MCE Student Council hosted its Holiday Shoppe in the library from December 10-13, offering students the chance to purchase gifts for loved ones. Students could bring in money for purchases. Thanks to generous donations from local churches and businesses all children were able to spend $5 at the holiday shop.
The event was a great success, grossing over $6,000. These funds will support student activities and celebrations at MCE. Thank you to everyone who made this special event possible!
Thank you to our volunteers!

A note from Student Council
Dear Wonderful Families,
We hope this holiday season has brought lots of love, joy, and wonderful memories your way! As we all know, the fun doesn’t stop after the presents are unwrapped. With that in mind, we’ve got a little favor to ask—one that will help us spread the holiday cheer all year long!
After your festive celebrations and gift-giving moments, please consider saving your Christmas gift bags, tissue paper, wrapping paper, and any holiday gift items. We know those cute bags and shiny papers can have a second life, and they’re perfect for next year's Holiday Shoppe!
Here’s why it’s awesome to save them:
Fun for future events: Your thoughtful gift bags and tissue paper will help make our next celebrations just as festive allowing students to bring home wrapped gifts for their loved ones.
Post-Christmas sales: After the holidays, you’ll find great deals on wrapping supplies, holiday decor, stuffed animals, and more! We gladly accept donations all year round, we collect all year to make the Holiday Shoppe a magical experience for the kids.
So, before you toss those goodies, stash them away in a closet, drawer, or attic send them into MCE!
Thank you for helping us keep the spirit of giving alive and making this a sustainable holiday season.
Warmest wishes and merry everything,
Montgomery City Elementary Student Council
