I wanted to share a few pictures of recess this past week! It has been so fun getting to know each child and share in some of their excitement for learning and playing together as a school family.

I also wanted to remind families that this week we are going to conduct two different safety drills. We will have our lockdown drill later on this afternoon and our evacuation drill on Thursday afternoon. Classroom teachers will be practicing with students in advance and preparing them for the drills as we want to not only promote safety through practicing the drills but also prepare for how drills like this can make us feel emotionally.

We are looking forward to another great week ahead!

Your son/daughter will be participating in MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) assessments in math and reading on 9/9/24 - 9/20/24. MAP is an online assessment that Franklin teachers and other professional staff use to determine your child’s achievement levels, academic growth, and other information that can help to improve teaching and learning. The full MAP assessment will be administered again in January and May of this school year so achievement and growth can be monitored over time. Below is the MAP Testing schedule.

THIS THURS 9/19! “ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE” PARENT INFO SESSION

This year, Franklin Public Schools is partnering with various other organizations to put together a “Parent Series” of topics that may be of interest for parents in our community to learn about. The first event focuses on “Artificial Intelligence” and will take place THIS Thursday, September 19th from 5pm-8pm in partnership with the Indian Community School. You can see the flyer below and click here or on the flyer to pre-register. Dinner is provided by That’s Amore for anyone who pre-registers. Childcare will be available for non-school aged children and a supervised Open Gym is available for students in 4K-2nd Grade. Keep an eye out in future newsletters for our October and later events!

As we move toward the November 5th referendum vote, we are offering the opportunities below to visit Franklin High School to see the spaces of need.

In addition, we are offering the following COMMUNITY INFORMATION SESSIONS in October where you can hear from district leaders about the path to the referendum and also tour FHS following the presentation.
