JV City Council next regular meeting on Monday, March 17, 2025, at 7:00 PM at the Civic Center
The agenda includes several significant items that directly impact city residents and infrastructure:
- Proposed ordinance amending the city's zoning districts. The amendment aims to rezone the area previously known as District D ("Jersey Village Crossing District") into two separate zoning districts: District H ("Industrial District") and District K ("Fifth Business District"). Additionally, portions of the existing District K are proposed to be rezoned into District F ("First Business District"). These zoning adjustments are part of ongoing efforts to better align land use with the city's development goals. Link to map of the zones:
- Review bids and consider awarding contracts for two major infrastructure projects funded through the 2023 Bond. 1) Equador Pedestrian Bridge, which aims to enhance connectivity and pedestrian safety within the community. 2) Reconstruction of Australia Street and Solomon Street, designed to significantly improve road conditions and neighborhood infrastructure.
- Proposing changes to utility billing to remove the Basic Monthly Service Charge for residential irrigation systems while increasing the Basic Monthly Service Charge for general residential usage by $5.05.
