That's a Wrap

What A Year
I personally have a very hard time saying goodbye, so I generally don't. I just hope I will cross paths with people in the future and wish them the very best. Each fifth-grade class holds a special place in my heart and we do our very best to prepare them for not only middle school, but for life. We teach them so much more then academics, and I know many of our parents truly appreciate it.
Below are some pictures from various things we have done on campus. We really work hard to create a community and culture for our students to thrive. Thank you for your all your help. I have said it time and time again from my 26 years of education. The best thing we can do is invest in our kids. As a parent and educator, I infrequently see kids become unsuccessful when the parents work with the school to ensure their child is educated. I have the honor of watching our Gaither graduates walk the stage tomorrow as well and get rejuvenated for the next school year. I recently read, from a good friend that Claywell is and always will be an excellent place because of the support we get from the community. We hope you all have a wonderful summer. Please make sure your kids read daily, and we will see you very soon for the 24-25 school year.
Our Retirees (Mrs. Dupre, Mr. Coach Gracey, and Mrs. Maguregui)
Wow!. Now that I am sitting here writing this I am starting to tear up. This is coming to an end for three excellent educators that have devoted much of their lives to our students at Claywell. Words cannot express the appreciation we feel for their work, friendship, and kindness. As I look at their picture I realize this is the end of their career, but the beginning of their time to do all the things that they want with their lives. I am sure there is traveling, pickleball, and grandbaby time in the very near future. They have all touched my life in a beautiful wife, and I have to now stop before I get to emotional. They will lead our clapout tomorrow, and I am sorry, but this is just hitting me with all the end of the year work I haven't had time to think about this. I love these three people very much and wish them well. : (
Pie the Principals
Pie The Principals
Hmmmm! I wonder if it was a good thing that we received so much money to pie us. I heard the Deneca family put 50 dollars down right away! Well it all goes to a good cause. We will get one of our playgrounds covered with our sunshades. Thank you for everyone who contributed to our Spring Fling. It was an extremely successful even. I smelled like sour milk for about two days after this even.
Staff vs. Fifth grade Kickball Game 9 to 9 tie WOW!
5th Grade Science Success
Our fifth graders worked so hard all year. We wanted to give them one more incentive to get a 3, 4, or 5 on the Science test. IF they made it they got to pie me! I would do it again, and again and again. Our kids did remarkable, and Mrs. Colucci and Ms. Hurman decided to get pied as well. Congratulations fifth graders.
