End of the Year
Hard to believe we are already into May and close to ending the year. These next two weeks will be busy as students are finishing up units of study and projects in their classes. Please take a few moments to check in with your student to see that they are getting these last few assignments turned in on time and finishing up any projects that have been assigned.
We will end the year with our annual Curriculum Fair and 5K next week. Then on Monday, May 20th we will have our final Pop-Up Party. Tuesday will be all about the 8th graders as we promote them on to high school in the afternoon. On Wednesday, 6th & 7th grade will each have an awards ceremony in the morning and then dismissed for the summer at 12:18 pm.
It's been a great year for the students and teachers at PJHS!
Capturing Kids Hearts
Why focus on Integrity?
- Integrity generates trust. When we are honest and follow through on promises, we gain the confidence of our team; Trust allows us to collaborate and achieve more together.
- Integrity encourages self-assessment. Integrity requires our regular self-assessment to align behaviors with our goals and self-beliefs.
- Integrity is essential in leadership. Great leaders decrease anxiety and build strong teams when they are honest, consistent, and responsible.
Integrity in Action:
- Acknowledge and affirm acts with integrity. Publicly praise kids who model acts of integrity such as honesty and honor. Encourage kids to identify friends who show integrity.
- Use scenarios and role play. Challenge kids with real-life scenarios and situations that allow them to reflect, discuss, and choose the best next step or action.
- Create a culture of accountability. Empower kids with choice-based consequences.
