THE LION'S DEN
October 2024 Edition
Farewell and Thank You to Our Principal
Last month, our elementary school principal, Mrs. Viggiano, announced that she would be leaving Shady Hills Elementary to take on a new position. While we are excited for her new opportunity, she will be deeply missed by students, staff, and parents alike. The next principal will have some very big shoes to fill!
Throughout her time with us, she brought joy, kindness, and a sense of community to everyone. She was not only professional in her role but also down-to-earth and approachable. One of the qualities we appreciated most was her leadership style. She never micromanaged; instead, she trusted her staff to complete their tasks, fostering a supportive and family-like atmosphere within the school.
Her dedication to the school community extended beyond just her role as a principal. She has stood by her staff through numerous milestones and challenges, from celebrating weddings and baby showers to offering support during times of loss. Her compassion and care have left an indelible mark on all of us.
Her personality made everyone feel comfortable, as if we had known her for years. She has always gone above and beyond in her job, never considering any task too small or too big. Whether it was helping in the front office, carline duties or stepping into any role where she was needed, she exemplified the true meaning of leadership. Her willingness to pitch in at every level speaks volumes about her character, something rarely seen in management. She is also known for her great sense of humor, but when it comes to the staff dress code, she’s strict! We all know the rule: just because your sweatpants are flared doesn’t mean they’re acceptable! (A little inside joke that has kept us all on our toes!)
As we say goodbye, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude for everything she has done for Shady Hills Elementary. She has made a lasting impact on all of us, and her legacy will be remembered for years to come.
