Ripon Cathedral School Update
Week ending Friday 19th July 2024
Return to Pantomime Planet
A Fantastic Flight to Planet Utopia.
This week the children in Key Stage 2 were fantastic in their end of term production 'Return to Pantomime Planet.' The crew of Beanstalk 1 led by Captain Jack (giant slayer) took the audience (aka passengers) on a dramatic journey to Planet Utopia. After crashing on Pantomime Planet the crew survived the phantom of the swamp and rescued the king's chicken from the Dwelling of the Dames before traversing a wormhole to arrive at their destination. The singing, dancing and acting were as always first class and passengers finished their flight after being thoroughly entertained. Well done to all of Key Stage 2 you were fab-u-lous! If you would like to take a look at pictures from the production you can click on the film below or alternatively you can click on the button to see the gallery of images on the school website.
Thank You From Mr Holmes
Ripon Cathedral School has always been a special place for me. I started teaching at the school in the mid 90s and my close family all have connections with the school. Therefore, it was a real honour and a privilege to return to Cathedral School as Headteacher. I have thoroughly enjoyed my last 6 years and am very proud of the culture that has been cultivated to ensure that the school is a place where individuals can aspire, flourish and love.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the governors and staff who have been so committed and focused on providing the best opportunities for all the children. I'd also like to thank parents and carers for their support, kind words and well wishes for the future.
Most of all, I know I will miss the children. They have been fantastic. I will miss their smiles, laughter, kindness, their 'news' and their boundless energy. A big thank you to the children at Cathedral School for making it a wonderful place to work! You are all stars!
I do hope that everyone has a lovely summer break with time for relaxation and recuperation. Enjoy the time with family and I wish you all the best for the future.

Cracking Cricket Festival
Anyone for Cricket?
We had a wonderful time at the cricket festival this week when everyone in Year 1 through to Year 6 took part in a range of cricketing games. The children played together brilliantly and enjoyed working in teams.
Superstars of the Term
Superstars
At our end of term Celebration Worship the children shared some of their work that they have been doing in the summer term. There was a wide range of curriculum work celebrated, including fabulous self standing structures in Year 1 for different animals and wire and soap sculptures in Year 4. At our worships we announced our new superstars of the term. A huge well done to all our well deserving recipients. Keep up the wonderful effort and attitude.
Year 6 Water Fight
End of Year Water Fight
As has become a tradition for Year 6 on their last day, after getting their shirts and autograph books signed they readied their water pistols and took part in an epic water fight on the school field. A great way to end the year on a super sunny day.
Thank You Mrs Dallaston
Many thanks
Today we said an emotional thank you and goodbye to Mrs Dallaston. She has enjoyed teaching Year 2 over the last year and will be moving on to a new role at Mowbray in Ripon. We wish her every success in her new job.
