Jumping into June!
A Big Week at Essex Shipbuilding Museum for 5th Grade!
Our 5th graders from Essex Elementary and Memorial Elementary recently came together for a memorable team-building experience at the Essex Shipbuilding Museum. During this hands-on field trip, students explored our local maritime history, learned how to read maps, build oars, and even row boats together. It was a wonderful couple of days of learning, collaboration, and connection to our coastal community!
Many thanks to the Essex Shipbuilding Staff and Volunteers that made this trip a huge success! Special thanks to Spaulding Education Fund for their generous grant toward this amazing opportunity!
In addition, our 5th grade band performed at Essex Shipbuilding Museum's Opening Day this afternoon! We hope to see you tonight at the Spring Concert!
Book Fair!
Our book fair last year was a great success! Thank you to FOEES and parent volunteers for helping make this a success!

Coaches' Corner: Helpful Tips from our Instructional Coaches!
This year, we’ve focused on building literacy skills by learning to make inferences and deeper connections with texts. These strategies help students understand not just what happens in a story, but why it matters. Families can support this work with fun activities like “What’s Going On?” Picture Talk, The “Book Detective” Game, and “What’s Missing?” (all designed to boost critical thinking). These simple games strengthen the reading skills practiced at school and make learning fun at home!
