CTS launch CREST Awards
CTS have launched the CREST awards aimed at developing the analytical and problem solving skills of Year 8 STEM students. The full story is available on the school website.
Year 11 GCSE Countdown
It is just 31 days until our Year 11's begin their GCSE exams. This is an exciting time for everyone in school as this is the first year of students sitting exams. Staff have put together good luck messages to the students and these are being displayed on the screens around school. Students have been working on their Science and pictured below are students who have been working with Peter Tiktin this week.
Students have also taken part in walking/talking mocks ahead of their Maths exams with Mrs Ferns and Mr Lee and have worked extremely hard showing great commitment.
Stars of the Week
Students:
- Miss Fenner has nominated Mason 8C and James 8T for their improved efforts and excellent focus in English.
- Mr Harley has nominated Jamie 8T for his hard work in Design and Technology and for producing a high quality finger joint.
- Mr Bidwell has nominated Indira 8C and Dominika 8S for their hard work in Geography.
- Miss Longhurst has nominated Cameron 10T for his engagement and contribution in History.
- Mrs Ferns and Mr Lee have nominated Year 11 Maths students for their hard work and commitment during the walking/talking mocks.
- Mr Cox has nominated his Year 10 Scientists for their great work during the neutralisation practical.
- Mrs Walls has nominated Krystian 11S for his continual commitment and hard work in English and great progress.
- Miss Bridges has nominated 7C for their engagement in the RSCS careers lesson.
- Mr Harley and Mrs Wright have nominated 7S for their great Food Technology lesson and for their great food and outstanding cleaning.
- Mrs Trueman has nominated Hayden, Katie and Brennon 10C for their great team work in Science.
- Miss Watt has nominated Callum 9S for his great focus and improvements in German. Miss Watt has also nominated Emma and Wojciech 7T for their outstanding work in German and for helping and encouraging their classmates.
- Mr Rogers has nominated Charlie and Emmanuel 8T for their brilliant performance in Futsal.
CTS Comic Club
Miss Kidner is running a Comic Club every Tuesday after school form 4.05pm to 5.00pm. There is a huge selection of new and exciting comics. Students can also create their own comic.
CTS Film and Manga Club
Film Club is held on Wednesday after school until 5.30pm. Students can watch TV and film adaptations of their favorite library books. Manga Club runs on a Thursday afternoon after school where students watch anime adaptations and learn to create their own manga.
CTS Library
All students are welcome to use the school Library and on a Tuesday lunchtime Miss Kidner is now running a Book Craft Club. Students can create their own bookmarks along with other book inspired crafts and also learn origami and calligraphy.
Reminders
- School is closed on Friday 14th April and Monday 17th April for the Easter Bank Holiday. Tuesday 18th April is a staff training day, school will reopen to students Wednesday 19th April.
- Year 8 KS4 Options Evening - this will be held on Wednesday 19th April with sessions at 5.15pm and 6.30pm. Please use the login details previously sent to you to book your session online.
