Looking Ahead ...
Although the calendar has not been released, here are the anticipated dates for our 2024-2025 school year:
- Thursday August 29 Back to School Night
- Wednesday September 4 First Day for Grades 1-5
- Monday September 9 First Day for Kindergarten
Field Day - Tuesday June 18
All students will have a block of time to enjoy Field Day activities. At the end of their session, all students get an otter pop! It is a fun event with hopefully, lots of sun. Please make sure your child is dressed for the weather and there are no sandals. This years theme is tye-dye and bright colors!!

Our last Tiger Pride Assembly for 2023-2024 school is Thursday June 20 at 9:45 am. This is a can't miss event - student awards will be given, we will celebrate our amazing year and kick-off summer!

Progress Reports
All student Elementary School Progress Reports will be sent him on Thursday June 20. For any students unable to be here on June 20, we will mail those home June 21.

Kindergarten Registration for 2024-2025 is open!
Will your child be 5 years old by August 31? The process is detailed in the step-by-step parent walkthrough video available in multiple languages on our website www.everettsd.org/kindergartenenrollment. You can also enroll in-person at Garfield Elementary at our event June 6, during regular school office hours, or download a printable packet, complete it, and bring to our school with the required documents.
- Once enrolled, invitations to our kindergarten events and participation in Everett Ready, a transition-into-kindergarten program offered for four days in August will be coming in June on www.everettsd.org/everettready.
- EPS offers the following Choice Programs beginning in kindergarten– early enrollment is recommended as space is limited: Lighthouse Cooperative , Dual Language Spanish Immersion Program, Port Gardner Family Partnership K-12.Note: Choice Programs will require a school transfer approval if not located at your child’s home school.

Garfield Summer Learning BINGO!
Coming home in your student's report card for Grades K-4 will be 2 bingo cards! 1 Card is for Reading and 1 is a 2-sided card for Math. PRIZES and recognition will be given when we return to school in the Fall. Students receive prizes for completing a board entirely (black-out) or for completing a row across, down or diagonally. We want to make sure our Tigers are learning all summer long!

Summer Meals
The USDA’s Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) provides free healthy meals to children and teens in communities with high rates of poverty. For more than 30 years, Everett Public Schools (EPS) Food & Nutrition Professionals have been serving summer meals to all children up to 18 years old. Check our website for additional parks, libraries, and community centers providing complimentary meals.

Modest Family Solutions(MFS),
Modest Family Solutions is an organization that is working to create a more just and equitable food system. They provide produce to families and communities in need across western Washington sourcing product from local growers, with an emphasis on supporting and building a BIPOC food value chain.
