Welcome Back Greenwich Elementary
Dream It, Believe It, Do It
September 2024
Dear Elementary Families,
We are both thrilled to welcome you back for another exciting school year at Greenwich Elementary! It is an honor to be part of this amazing community, and we feel privileged to lead our students on a journey of growth, discovery, and achievement.
As we gear up for the year ahead, we want to extend our warmest welcome to all of our students and families, both returning and new. Each school year brings fresh opportunities, new friendships, and the chance to create lasting memories. We look forward to sharing this journey with you.
Our foremost commitment is to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment where every student can thrive. With your partnership, we can make a difference in the lives of each student, empowering them to excel academically, develop essential life skills, and foster a strong sense of community.
Stay Informed, Stay Connected
To keep you informed about everything happening at school, we will be sharing a monthly newsletter. This will provide updates on school activities, achievements, upcoming events, and important announcements. It’s our way of giving you insight into your child’s educational journey.
The newsletter will be posted on our elementary website each month, and we will also send a printed version home with students to ensure everyone stays connected. We encourage you to read it, share your feedback, and join us in the many events and initiatives throughout the school year.
Together, We Grow
We are excited about the experiences and accomplishments that await our students this year. Your involvement is vital to their success, and your support makes a tremendous difference. We look forward to meeting each of you and building a strong partnership as we work together to create a vibrant, thriving school community.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at crecord@greenwichcsd.org or rhughes@greenwichcsd.org if you have any questions, suggestions, or simply want to introduce yourself. Let’s embark on this journey together, united in our mission to provide the best possible educational experience for all of our students.
In partnership,
Cheryl Record, Principal

By being informed about the school's expectations, you can help reinforce a respectful learning environment and prevent potential issues.

September's Character Trait: Respect
Each month the elementary will focus on a different character trait to help our students develop positive values and behavior. For September, our focus is on Respect—showing consideration for ourselves, others, and the world around us.
Here are some activities you can do at home to reinforce this important trait:
-Respectful Conversations: Practice having discussions where everyone gets a turn to speak, and everyone listens without interrupting.
-Acts of Kindness: Encourage your child to perform small acts of kindness, such as helping a sibling or writing a thank-you note to a teacher or neighbor.
-Environment Care: Spend time as a family picking up litter, recycling, or taking care of plants to show respect for the environment.
-Gratitude Journal: Have your child keep a journal where they write down things they appreciate about others and themselves each day.
Thank you for your partnership in nurturing respectful and responsible students!
