Dear Erickson Families,
Today, Wednesday, June 5th, is the LAST DAY of school and the last Erickson Express until July. I wish all of the 5th grade students success in middle school and I look forward to seeing all returning students in the fall. Thank you for your support throughout this school year. I hope families have a fun and relaxing summer together!
Progress Reports will be available in OTUS TODAY Wednesday, June 5th. We will also email a copy of the report card. All families will also receive an email letter with your child(ren)'s 2023-2024 attendance record.
BUS TRANSPORTATION for the 2024-2025 School Year: Families are automatically routed on a bus if you live 1.5 miles or further from the school . If you would like to DECLINE BUS TRANSPORTATION, please click on this DECLINE BUS FORM so your child(ren) are not routed on the bus for the 24-25 school year (you would then be dropping them off/picking them up daily).

June 6-25 from 8:00-3:00 (closed June 19 & 21)

2024-2025 School Year Calendar
Today we had an Awards Assembly. Students who participated in a club, had academic, character, or fine arts achievements were recognized. If your child was recognized with the Academic Achievement Award (5th Grade), Academic Excellence Award (5th Grade) or the Kindergarten-5th Grade SOARing Eagle Character Awards your child will be bringing home a certificate and you received an email from me detailing the award. Congratulations to all students who were recognized today!
Erickson is having two SUMMER CHALLENGES. Please see the flyers below about the reading challenge from Mrs. Grover and the IXL math and reading challenge. Students also brought copies of these challenges home.
2024-2025 Staffing Update
Mrs. Stankoskey...will be retiring after 35 years in District 13. See below.
Miss Naples...will join the Indian Grove Owls next year as their AWESOME Assistant Principal. We are so proud of her and glad she is spreading her wings into a new district. We will miss her so much but are so excited for her new journey.
Mrs. Schwerin, Mrs. Koziol and Miss Ott...will be taking the 2024-2025 school year off to spend time with their families. We will miss them greatly and wish them the best making memories with their little ones!
Mrs. Ikens...will be resuming a full time teaching position and moving from the 3rd grade team to the 4th grade team. The 4th grade team is excited for Mrs. Ikens to rejoin the team (Mrs. Ikens began her career at Erickson in 4th grade).
Mrs. Holm...will be resuming a full time teaching position and continuing her role in 3rd grade.
Mrs. Crossley...will be returning and teaching Kindergarten. She started her career at Erickson teaching Kindergarten.
Mrs. Makropoulos...special education teacher will join the Itasca School District in the Fall. We sure will miss her! Mrs. Makropoulos did a wonderful job in this role while Mrs. Gnatyuk was on leave with her family for the school year. Mrs. Gnatyuk will rejoin the staff in her special education role for the 24-25 school year.
Mrs. Cimino...Speech Pathologist will be moving on to new adventures! We wish her the best of luck.
Miss Neylon...is the new Speech Pathologist during the 24-25 school year.
2024-2025 Important Dates
WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 14: Information Day 3:00-6:00 @ Erickson. Find out classroom teachers, bus routes, tour the building, sign up to support the PTO, etc. This is an open house style event.
WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 21: Preschool, Kindergarten,1st-5th grade Meet the Teacher/Drop off school supplies 2:30-3:30 at Erickson.
THURSDAY, AUGUST 22: 1st-5th grade 2024-2025 First Day of School & Kindergarten Assessment. (If you are a family of a Kindergartener, schedule an assessment time if you have not scheduled a time.)
FRIDAY, AUGUST 23: Kindergarten Assessment. (If you are a family of a Kindergartener, schedule an assessment time if you have not scheduled a time.)
- Kindergarten Assessment Sign-Up: SIgn up for an hour slot of time on August 22 or 23 for your child to be assessed on early literacy/math skills. A parent(s) should also plan on attending this session to meet with a kindergarten staff member to go over kindergarten related information.
