NEW BUSINESS
Growing Pains
Our new Student Information System (Teacher Ease) and our texting program (Thrillshare) are not exchanging information properly right now.
This means that new phone numbers (new students, parents) aren't loading into the program for text alerts and some email notifications. We are aware of the issue and working with both companies' customer service.
We are sorry for the inconvenience. Stay tuned for updates!
First Friday
We had a great First Friday with several information stations, topped off with a great Pep Assembly (thank you, HS Student Council, Softball, Cheer, and Football teams)!
Stay tuned for a true sock off when the bell doesn't catch me by surprise!
Clarification: Attending this week's ballgames
Students learned this week that they must be in good standing to participate in extracurricular events/activities. (This includes attending those events as a spectator.)
Students must be in attendance at school for four consecutive hours on the day of the event to be able to play in or attend an extracurricular event/activity.
Handbook Highlight
The Handbook Highlight is a recap of a handbook policy or entry that our Students/Adults need to be aware of. If I'm taking the time to include it, it's something to pay attention to - either because I'm seeing that people aren't clear on it, people aren't complying with it, or I'm about to start cracking down on it. This week's highlight is:
STUDENT DRESS AND GROOMING
School dress should not be a disruption to the educational process or create health or safety issues.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Clothing must cover areas from one armpit across to the other armpit, down to approximately 3-4 inches in length on the upper thigh. (See image below).
2. Shoes must be worn at all times and should be safe for the school environment (pajamas, bedroom shoes, or slippers shall not be worn, except for school activities approved by the Principal).
3. See through or mesh garments must not be worn without appropriate coverage underneath that meet the minimum requirements of the dress code.
4. Headgear, including hats, hoodies, and caps are not allowed unless permitted for religious, medical, or other reasons by School Administration.
5. Specialized courses may require specialized attire, such as sports uniforms or safety gear.
Additional Requirements:
1. Clothing may not depict , imply, advertise, or advocate illegal, violent, or lewd conduct, weapons, or the use of alcohol, tobacco, marijuana, or other controlled substances.
2. Clothing may not depict or imply pornography, nudity, or sexual acts.
3. Clothing may not display or imply vulgar, discriminatory, or obscene language or images.
4. Clothing may not state, imply, or depict hate speech/imagery targeting groups based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, religious affiliation, or any other protected classification.
5. Sunglasses may not be worn inside the building, unless permitted for medical, or other reasons by School Administration.
6. Clothing and accessories that endanger student or staff safety may not be worn.
7. Apparel, jewelry, accessories, tattoos, or manner of grooming that, by virtue of its color, arrangement, trademark, or any other attribute, denotes membership in a gang that advocates illegal or disruptive behavior is prohibited.
The Administration reserves the right to determine what constitutes appropriate dress. Students who do not adhere to these guidelines will not be allowed to attend class. Parents will be called if appropriate clothing is not available or if the student refuses the dress-code appropriate clothing.
