Bourne Middle School News

Our annual Turkey Trot was a great success! We had a great morning in the dancing in the stands and cheering on each grade as they raced. Thanks to the many caregivers and family members who joined us! Congratulations to all of our runners and walkers, and a HUGE thank you to our PE department for all of their work planning the race, as well as all of our staff for supporting a positive event.

Each quarter, teams select students who exemplify our core values of Respect, Responsibility, and Safety every day. These students meet all of their academic responsibilities, are respectful and follow the expected behaviors, and are kind to their peers and teachers. Congratulations to: Mae Mark, Matthew Madigan, Ada O'Brien, Jackson Rodrick, Jaxson Berriault, Liam Fox, Nora Sullivan, Cullan DeGowin, Lizzie Gould, Aniyah Robinson, Claire Canfield, Connor Banks, Tegan Kowzic, Aadra Johnson, Ryder Cooke, Chase Fahey, Cibella Occhipint, Brian Hutchinson, Brooke Cannon, Madi Parsons, Stella Blizz, Seth Key, Nora Sullivan, and Layla Blake for being named B2B students for Quarter 1! These students will be recognized for their positive contributions to our community on December 3rd as part of our Honor Roll/B2B celebration.

Students who made honor roll (All As and Bs) for Quarter 1 received a congratulatory letter and an invitation to our Honor Roll/B2B Celebration last Tuesday. The letter was also emailed to families of students who made honor roll. We look forward to celebrating our student's academic achievements on December 3rd.

Hello families! How does WIN support my student’s success with grade-level curriculum? Grade-level teacher teams have used classroom and assessment data to assign students to WIN groups for ELA & Math. Students attend Math WIN two days each week and ELA Win two days each week. On Wednesdays during WIN, students may use the time for extra help, silent reading, or simply getting organized. Recently in math WIN, students have used Blooket & IXL as a fun competitive way to practice math facts.

Any grade 8 athletes who have a break between school and practice are reminded that they should go home and get dropped off at the start of practice, stay with a teacher (scheduled ahead of time), or attend the study hall at the BHS Gym while they wait for practice to begin. Students are not permitted to "hang out" at BMS unsupervised. A reminder that there is no after school at BMS on Wednesdays or Fridays.

The BMS Student Council has a "Gear Shop" open through December 5th. These cozy BPS items are available in lots of colors with two different logo options, and make great holiday gifts for your students - be sure to shop by Thursday for Holiday delivery!
