January 2025
Dear Crusader Families,
Open House Yard Signs will be passed out to the families during dismissal on Tuesday, January 14. Please consider taking a yard sign and placing it in your yard or around your community. Once the event is over, you are able to discard the yard sign.
Many thanks to Mrs. Tebbe for all of the hardwork she has put in to offer the Good News Book Fair again this year! In order to make the Book Fair successful, many volunteers are needed. To review the hours of the Book Fair and sign up as a volunteer, please scroll down to Volunteer Opportunites.
The Boys volleyball season will be starting soon! If your child is interested in signing up, please review the graphic below and contact Jessica Wunderlich at JWunderlich@sfdsleb.org.
As always, thank you for all you do to support the school.
Gratefully,

Crusader Shout-Outs
Fr. Wood, Mrs. A, and the 1st Grade Class!
The first grade class has been working really hard! In December, the students wrote letters to Fr. Rob Wood. Mrs. Allen-Saxton met him years ago at St. Philips when he was helping to teach the RCIA class she was attending. Fr. Wood did a great job answering all of the questions that she had! Mrs. A asked the class to write a letter to Fr. Wood and to ask him anything they would like regarding God/heaven/church/the Bible et cetera. She let them know that he would do his best to answer their questions. The students came up with some great questions, and waited for a response from Fr. Wood! The students worked hard to learn to write in a letter format. They brainstormed and did a great job coming up with their questions. Each student wrote their own letter.
Below are the questions that the students asked:
How many pages are in the Bible?
What did God eat and what did God look like?
How did we come alive?
How did God get to heaven?
What is heaven like?
How did God make heaven?
What is it like in heaven?
How were angels made?
How was God made?
Why is God powerful?
How did God make angels?
Why is Jesus in our hearts because we love Him?
How do you know all the things a priest is supposed to do?
How do you build humans?
How did God make me?
Do you know everything?
What is my angel's name?
Who made the words to the Bible?
How is God powerful?
What does heaven look like?
Is it true that angels do miracles?
What is heaven like?
How does God come alive?
Who made Jesus?
Fr. Wood sent the students a response, along with a special treat to enjoy, before the students went home on Christmas Break. Many thanks to Mrs. A and Fr. Wood for completing such a memorable and impactful lesson for the students!
5-8 Grade STREAM Project Design
Mr. Harasz had the 5-8 grade students design and 3D print ping-pong paddles. The students tested out their ping-pong paddles before Christmas Break to see how the paddles worked. The students were able to play and enjoy their newly designed paddles. Many thanks to Mr. Harasz for creating such a fun and innovative lesson!
