Please join us for the first PTA meeting of the new year in our new space! Dinner will be provided starting at 5:30 p.m. The meeting will start promptly at 6 p.m. After short PTA updates (including approving Dec. meeting minutes) and remarks from Principal Brunson, parents and caregivers will have the opportunity to tour the swing space. Children are welcome to attend the meeting as childcare will NOT be provided.

*If you plan to attend and have student(s) in aftercare that ride the 6 p.m. bus back to J.O., you must arrive AND sign them out from the swing space before their scheduled bus departure time. If you do not, your child will be placed on the bus, and you will need to pick them up from 660 K Street NE.

Parking for the meeting will be available in the lot accessible from I Street NE via the Kiss & Go line or on nearby streets, as represented in the map below.

Stuart Hobson Middle School is excited to host a virtual Open House for prospective students and families tomorrow night, Wednesday, Jan. 15, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Similar to an in-person Open House, you will have the chance to learn about their school and programs, hear from community members, and engage in a Q&A session. They will share a recording of this event for families to reference later or if you cannot join tomorrow night.

Stuart will publish the recording in this shared folder which includes an FAQ sheet, the slides and recording of a 2023-24 Open House, and a list of all staff email addresses for any follow-up questions. They will continue to update this folder with up-to-date information after their Open House events this year.

In the lead-up to the DC Camp Fair on Saturday, Feb. 1, we'll be having weekly meetings in January on Thursdays from 8 to 9 p.m.

Can’t make the weekly meetings? There are plenty of ways to get involved. We will need volunteers the evening of Friday, Jan. 31, to help set up, on Saturday, Feb. 1, to help manage the event, and bake sale helpers to contribute baked goods. Please sign-up to help!

This FREE public event is your one-stop shop for learning about the many DMV-area camp programs. Join Hill Family Biking on Saturday, Jan. 25, at 10:30 a.m. for a 3.5-mile bike ride to Canal Park for ice skating, hot chocolate and cookies. We're getting an extra special group rate ($13 for skating + rental) and will be joining the noon skating session. Get excited for this biking and skating adventure!
