Schmucker PTO Newsletter

Thank you for your generous support of the PTO! Your donations, paid PTO dues, and PE clothes and spirit wear purchases support our mission of supplementing the educational experiences of our children. We are able to help our teachers with classroom purchases, reduce the cost of educational field trips, and support after school activities such as the 5 Star program. These are just a few examples of how the PTO gives back to the students and school community. However, we are still looking for someone to chair our fundraising committee. Please contact us if you might be interested in this position or have any questions at schmuckerpto@phm.k12.in.us.

The PTO meets monthly to discuss current business. Please feel free to join us at any of our meetings. It is a great way to get involved at Schmucker and gives you the opportunity to learn more about the SMS community. The dates of our future meetings are: November 7th, February 6th, March 5th and May 7th. Meetings are held at 1pm at SMS. We would love to see you there!

Schmucker PTO will be hosting a Book Fair October 21st-October 24th! Students will have the opportunity to come to the book fair to buy books this week during a class period. The book fair will also be open during student-led conferences on the 21st and 23rd. To make our book fair a success, we will need volunteers. A sign up to volunteer will be coming out soon. The PTO is hosting 2 restaurant nights this month!

Wednesday, October 23rd at Portillo's on Main Street in Mishawaka and Wednesday, October 30th at Chipotle! If you can't make one, make the other! Or if you just don't feel like cooking, head to both. Your support is always appreciated!

It’s not too early to start shopping Scrip gift cards for your holiday gifts and teacher gifts! You can give physical gift cards or simply send an E gift card through their email. Purchases are made through presto pay or your credit card.

Physical orders are always due the first Friday of every month and can be picked up the following Friday at school bus doors after a student online form has been filled out.

Calling all Box Tops Collectors!! Please turn in your non-expired Box Tops to the Schmucker office by Thursday, October 24, 2019! That's the day before Fall Break. We will be mailing our Box Tops the following week. Also, Box Tops are going digital! They now have an app for Box Tops in both the Apple app store & Google Play. Once you've downloaded the app, you'll need to create an account and associate it with Schmucker Middle School. Then you simply take a photo of your receipts with any qualifying products using your phone & upload it to Box Tops through the app. Schmucker will be automatically credited with those Box Top points! They are still accepting clipped Box Tops, so please send those in as well.

Don't forget to keep using AmazonSmile for your amazon purchases and saving the UPC codes from the Martin's Supermarket brands Our Family and Spartan. These little actions add up and raise money for our programs. We truly appreciate your help!

Thank you to all the SMS staff, students and families who have ordered Spirit Wear and PE Clothes with the PTO. Students were very excited to have their new clothes and some even changed at lunch into their shirts!

Gold PE shirts are available in the main office year round for $10. Shorts $11 and bags $12.

There will be another chance to purchase SMS Spirit Wear in early November.
