Principal's Post
Happy New Year!
I sincerely hope that everyone had a restful, relaxing holiday and have returned to school ready to learn and work hard. As 2019 begins, we are nearing the official half-way point of the school year. Thank you so much to all the families that came out to our school events including Curriculum Night, Program Choice Fair, Reading with heART Night, First Quarter Conferences, and Artie Parties. Your partnership with us is vital to your child’s success and I want to thank you for your continued support. I also want to thank our Rocket families and PTO for their successful fundraisers thus far: the Yankee Candle and World’s Finest Chocolate sales. The funds from these sales will help provide additional resources to classrooms and rewards for student achievement.
Our students have made tremendous progress this year; however, there is a lot of hard work left to do before the end of the school year. In order for all students to grow and learn as much as possible during this important time of year, please make sure they are at school and on time every day. Student attendance has a direct correlation to student achievement. In the coming weeks we will have mid-year academic assessments and we want to make sure our Rockets shine and show all they have learned thus far this year.
Thank you for all of your support at home and we look forward to a great second half of the year and seeing all of our students making high growth and enjoying school every day at Royal Oaks!
“The best way to predict your future is to CREATE it.” Abraham Lincoln
Let’s continue to create amazing futures for our Rockets in 2019!
Sincerely,
Melody Marsh
EOG Proctors Needed
Each year, our 3rd through 5th graders participate in state standardized tests called End of Grade (EOGs). In order to run these tests successfully, we require proctors to assist the teachers throughout the testing session.
Please consider volunteering to proctor with our EOGs at the end of the year.
This year, we will have our EOGs on:
- Tuesday, June 4th (ELA)
- Thursday, June 6th (Math)
- Monday, June 10th (5th Science and 3rd grade Read to Achieve)
