FAPS #WeAreFenton Community Update

Fall Festivities - Homecoming and More!
Dear Fenton Community and Families
It was awesome to see so many of you at our Homecoming Parade and Football game - it's always a reminder of just how lucky we are as a community! Homecoming is one of my favorite week's of the year - thank you to the staff and students that made it so special!
As we settle into the rhythm of the new school year, I wanted to use this newsletter to update and then also celebrate some of our students and staff. Moreover, in this newsletter, you will see some information on our Strategic Plan and a short webinar on the goal area of Facilities. As you know, we have accomplished several aspects of this goal area, but also continue to look at optimizing our dollars in a way that makes our facilities a great place to go to school and work. We also want to make sure we continually look at using the bond dollars we are so grateful to receive to make sure our facilities are updated and in the best shape they can be.
We also have some information on programming in our district as well as celebrating our students and staff.
#WeAreFenton
Sincerely,
Heidie Ciesielski
Superintendent

OCTOBER is NATIONAL PRINCIPALS MONTH!
October marks the celebration of a special group of leaders in our community – our school principals. These dedicated individuals play a pivotal role in shaping our students’ futures and the trajectory of our education system.
This month-long celebration is an opportunity to recognize and thank our principals for their unwavering dedication, exceptional leadership, and remarkable impact on student success.
We encourage you to join us, and educational organizations nationwide like AFSA, NAESP, and NASSP, as we acknowledge the tireless efforts of these unsung heroes. Share your appreciation using the hashtag #ThankAPrincipal on social media, and visit principalsmonth.org for more resources and ways to get involved.
Let’s come together to celebrate the extraordinary individuals at the helm of our schools and the difference they make every day transforming our communities.

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) serves nearly 30 million children every school day. President John F. Kennedy created National School Lunch Week (NSLW) in 1962 to promote the importance of a healthy school lunch in a child's life and the impact it has inside and outside of the classroom.
Strategic Plan Webinars 2024
Focus Area 1: Facilities
Based on feedback from our Strategic Plan Stakeholder feedback, in May of 2024 - we identified some areas of the strategic plan that our stakeholders may be unfamiliar with; therefore, we are working to curate a few short webinars which will help our stakeholders see the focus of the Strategic Plan and our resources. This initial webinar is really a review of the plan as well as information about the first of the focus areas of the plan that FAPS will be working on through 2027. We hope you find this informative, and truly if you would like more information head over to our website where our Strategic Plan portion of the website is located.
