Greetings CMSD Family,
As we embark on a new week, I am filled with gratitude and optimism for the future of CMSD. Our recent achievements in academic excellence, the opening of the high school choice portal, and tonight’s School Choice Fair reflect the exciting opportunities that lie ahead for our scholars and families.
A Time for Choices: School Choice Fair and High School Portal Now Open
Choosing the right school is one of the most important decisions families make, and CMSD offers a wealth of exceptional options for every student. Tonight, I invite you to join us at the School Choice Fair, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the Arnold Pinkney East Professional Center. This event is a chance for families to explore the variety of high-quality schools CMSD offers, meet school representatives, and ask questions that will help you make the best decision for your scholar’s future.
In addition, we're excited to launch the High School Choice Portal at 5:00p.m. this evening. This portal provides families of 8th-grade scholars the opportunity to explore and select their preferred high schools. From rigorous STEM-focused environments to arts-centered programs like the Cleveland School of the Arts, CMSD continues to deliver specialized opportunities that meet the needs and aspirations of our students.
Celebrating Academic Success
Over the past year, CMSD has seen significant strides in academic performance, recently meeting state standards for the first time in CMSD history. This accomplishment reflects the dedication of our scholars and the commitment of our educators. Programs like MC2 STEM High School and Whitney M. Young Gifted & Talented Leadership Academy have fostered innovation, critical thinking, and academic growth.
These specialized programs, along with others across the district, provide tailored learning environments that support all student’s unique talents and interests. Whether your scholar is exploring a future in the arts, sciences, or technical careers, CMSD offers pathways to success.
Envisioning the Future of CMSD
Looking ahead, we aim to build on these successes and elevate education quality across all schools. The recent passage of the levy and bond issue demonstrates our community’s belief in our mission and trust in our ability to deliver on our promises. These funds will allow us to:
- Expand Academic Programs to prepare students for college and career opportunities.
- Grow Specialized Education by broadening access to tailored programs for all scholars.
- Enhance Infrastructure with modernized facilities and innovative technologies.
- Support Educators through professional development and added resources.
Community Support: The Pillar of Our Success
As we move forward, your engagement is critical. Attend tonight’s School Choice Fair, explore the High School Choice Portal, and continue to be an active partner in our shared mission. Together, we can ensure CMSD not only meets but exceeds expectations.
With Gratitude,
Dr. Warren Morgan
