HBMS Parent & Student Newsletter 2024-2025
Principal's Corner😉
Greetings Warrior Families! Tomorrow will be our final Super STAAR Saturday tutorial for the 24-25 school year; thank you to everyone who supported our students in ensuring that they attended each Saturday. Our final round of STAAR testing will begin on Monday, 04/28/25 with sixth graders taking the Math STAAR; additional information regarding STAAR can be found below. Please be reminded that VISITORS ARE NOT PERMITTED ON CAMPUS DURING STAAR TESTING.
When our students return next week, we will have 23 days of school remaining.
As we navigate through the final nine weeks of school, please ensure that your Warrior is maintaining academic and behavior expectations. The conclusion of STAAR testing season is NOT synonymous with the end of school. Through continued partnership, collaboration and accountability, we WILL finish the school year with EXCELLENCE!
Thank you for your continued support as we embark upon this journey towards EXCELLENCE! Enjoy your weekend.

MAP Assessment Information
MAP Growth Scores
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We are pleased to share that all students in 6th-8th grade have completed the MAP MOY Growth assessments for Reading, Math, and Science. These assessments provide a detailed view of your child’s progress in key academic areas, allowing us to better support their learning needs.
The results of these assessments have been mailed home. Please contact the campus with questions.
Allergy Tips from the School Nurse...
Allergy season is here! Here are some simple tips to help your child feel better:
- Keep windows closed: Pollen is worse in the morning, so keeping windows closed helps keep it out.
- Wash hands and face: After playing outside, remind your child to wash their hands and face to get rid of pollen.
- Take allergy medicine: If your child takes allergy medicine, make sure they take it as the doctor says.
- Wash bedding often: Wash sheets and pillowcases once a week to help keep allergies away.
- Drink lots of water: Staying hydrated helps keep the body cool and can ease allergy symptoms like dry eyes and a scratchy throat.
With these tips, we can help your child feel better this allergy season! Let me know if you have any questions.
Vaccinations for the 2025-2026 School Year
Parents, please make sure your email address is current on Skyward. Reminders about almost due/overdue vaccines are sent via email. Texas law requires all students be up to date on vaccines to attend school.
All incoming 7th grade students for the 2025-2026 school year are required to obtain Tdap and Meningococcal (MCV4) vaccines per Texas law. Please schedule an appointment for your student as soon as possible to avoid delays in enrollment for the upcoming school year.
Medications
Parents, if you wish to have medication in the school clinic for your student, please have appropriate forms filled out and signed by a doctor. The clinic cannot accept ANY medications without doctor’s orders. Parents must drop medication off at school. DO NOT send your student to school carrying their own medication.

If a new lanyard is required, that will be given at no additional charge.
No payments by cash, check or money order will be accepted at campus. Parents will be instructed of the proper way to find the fee in Skyward and pay it online.

School Safety
Student and staff safety is a priority at HBMS. Please note a few items as we launch the new year.
- FBISD also has other new procedures in place, such as exterior door audits, to make sure they are all functioning properly.
- Classroom doors will remain locked during the day. Students are taught to seek teacher permission before opening the door for any adult.
- Rhino locks are installed on all classroom doors. These locks are activated in the case of a Lockdown.
- All visitors will be required to show proper ID and be screened through our Raptor system before visiting any part of the campus.
- All DRILLS will be announced; students and staff have been taught that if an announcement is not made indicating a DRILL, that the situation is real.
Information regarding specific safety drills and emergency operation protocols may also be located via the following website: https://iloveuguys.org
All HBMS staff members and students have received training regarding the various protocols.
