Please join Mrs. O'Dowd before meet the teacher to learn all the Leopard ways. This orientation will review arrival, dismissal, breakfast, lunch, etc to get all new parents prepared for a great school year.

If you pre-purchased school supplies through school cash they will be available for pick up during Meet the Teacher on August 7th from 4:30-5:30 in your child's classroom.

If you are unable to attend Meet the Teacher, your child's school supplies will be delivered to their homeroom class ready for the first day of school.

I can't believe a new school year is right around the corner. August 9th is the first day of school.

Doors open at 7:45am

Breakfast is from 7:45-8:10am

Dismissal starts at 3:20pm

Attached is the arrival and dismissal plan for the 23-24 school year.

School Doors open to receive our Leopards at 7:45 am. The Tardy bell will ring at 8:10 am. If you arrive after 9:00 am, please escort your child into the school and sign in.

Dismissal begins at 3:20 pm and ends at 3:45 pm. Please make sure that your child is picked up no later than 3:45 pm.

If you are needing to change transportation please email bdc@kleinisd.net no later than 2:00 pm

If you have multiple children that attend Benignus, you will follow the younger siblings transportation.

If your child is a walker, you are no longer allowed to pick your child up in the parking lot by car. You may walk to pick your child up by the gym and walk them home.

Campus Kids is picked up in the cafeteria. A Campus Kids employee will greet you and follow their sign out procedures. Campus Kids students must wait until all Klein ISD buses and dismissal traffic is finished before being released to the cafeteria or signed out.

In order to keep our leopards healthy and the cafe a great place to enjoy and create socialization, we are designating certain days that students can have visitors for lunch. Please check the days below to see when you may eat lunch with your student. Students are limited to two visitors a lunch. If your child's birthday falls on a non designated day, please inform the front office prior to their birthday.

Visitors may start attending lunch on September 4, 2023. This will ensure our leopards learn the Café procedures.

Application for Free & Reduced Meals:

Beginning the 22-23 school year, USDA will no longer offer waivers allowing all students to eat for free. We encourage all families to apply electronically at kisd.us/frmealapp to see if your student(s) qualify for free or reduced-priced meals.

Please be sure that your PreK, Kinder, and 1st grade students are sent with an extra pair of clothes in case those unforeseen accidents happen.

Before enrolling at Benignus, your student must be up to date on ALL vaccinations OR have an up-to-date exemption from the State of Texas. No student will be assigned a homeroom teacher if ANY medical information or immunization record is incomplete and will be unable to start class until cleared by administration.

Please be sure to disclose any medical history, medications, and allergies to our nurse so we can keep your child's safety and health at the front of our decisions. Know that we follow all FERPA and HIPPA guidelines and this information is confidential. The more we know about your child, the better we can serve them!

Klein ISD will issue Smart Tags to all students. These tags serve several purposes; students will use them to check out library books, purchase lunch and breakfast, and for students that ride Klein buses before and after school. Each child will be given 2 tags at the beginning of the year. One tag will be zip tied to the right side of your child’s backpack and the other tag will be left in the classroom. They will be able to receive one free replacement, but unfortunately it will be a $5.00 replacement fee for another smart tag. The replacement tag will be available for purchase on school cash. If you have any questions, please call the school at 832-484-7500.
