LCHS took top honors in our conference Pageapalooza competition this month. Over the past 4 weeks, 24 of our Eagles combined to read for 57,113 minutes! Congratulations to Aurelia Carraro, Kaylei Davis, and Hannah Davis for being our school’s top 3 readers!

The 2025- 2026 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is now open during Beta testing using the following link. Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
Please remember that before beginning the FAFSA parents/guardians and students both will need a Federal Student Aid (FSA) ID. Create an Account
As a reminder, completing the FAFSA is an Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) graduation requirement. In conjunction with the Illinois Student Assistance Commission, a FAFSA Completion workshop will be held in the Lakes Community High School Cafeteria, Saturday, December 14th, 9 am- 12 pm.

College Planning Night (Week 2)
Course Selection for 2025-26 is Around the Corner! (Week 3)
For each grade level, counselors will first present to students about the selection process and class-specific considerations. After this meeting, students will have 3 weeks to schedule appointments with counselors to choose classes for next year.

November 12 - December 6, 2024 Junior Course Selection Appointments
Friday, December 6 - Sophomore Presentations 1st period

JAC Plumbing Open House (Week 2)
College & Career Center
- Attending a college visit is a great way to learn about colleges/universities.
- College visits are open to Juniors and Seniors and will take place in the College and Career Center.
- To attend a college visit you must both register in Maia Learning and obtain permission to attend from the teacher of the class that you'll be missing 24 school hours in advance (ie. A Monday 8:30am visit requires registration and permission from your teacher by 8:30am the previous Friday).

Link Crew (new)
Link Crew is hosting its annual Linksgiving during lunch periods on Thursday, November 21, during lunch periods. Freshmen will report to their lunch study halls for attendance, then will go to the Main and Small Gyms for a sundae bar, kick ball, Thanksgiving movies, and lunch with Link Leaders. Students may bring their lunch or purchase lunch in the cafeteria.

Latest Highlights
As we move through November, we are now in the transition between fall and winter sports. Girls basketball had their scrimmage last Friday night, and the boys will have theirs this Friday. Girls bowling officially starts today, which means all of our winter sports are up and running! This Thursday, we will have our first signing day of the year, and we will honor Riley Bell-Nance and Maia Becker!
