Board Salutes & "I made it a 10" Acknowledgments
"I made it a 10" acknowledgments and Board Salutes for April & May are listed below. Kudos to our students and staff members who make Itasca 10 an amazing district.
Franzen 3rd grade student, Heer Shah, was recognized as the district representative in the area spelling bee. Heer was the youngest participant!
- Benson & Franzen P.E. Teacher, Karen Engel, was recognized in a Board Salute for her efforts in the Kids Heart Challenge in partnership with the American Heart Association. Not only was a significant amount of money raised, but the program makes a tremendous impact in helping teach the importance of cardiovascular health. Amazing work!
- Franzen Teachers, Julia Wales and Adrianne Poulakidas, "made it a 10" by providing new strategies to support our students at the latest Franzen Staff Meeting! We are so proud and grateful for their collaboration and leadership. Way to go!
- The Benson second grade team "made it a 10" by frequently collaborating this school year: discussing curriculums & assessments, creating student supports, and designing new field trips that extended our school curriculums. They represent a variety of school experiences but came together as one team. We are proud of them and their love of our students. Mrs. Buske, Mrs. Eich, Mrs. Laraia, Mrs. Frederick, Ms. Benjamin, Mrs. Schingoethe, Mrs. Horn, Mrs. McCarthy
- Benson and Franzen P.E. Teachers, Karen Engel & Chris Imes, "made it a 10" recently by providing bowling, golfing & a Kentucky Derby experience. The bowling & golfing equipment are borrowed from local agencies who partner with our school. Thank you for securing these opportunities for our students.
- Robert Ranz, Peacock Band Director, recently visited Benson Primary & Franzen Intermediate Schools. What "made this a 10" was not that he led his band through several amazing pieces--what "made it a 10" was his warm, caring, informative explanations to our students. Mr. Ranz gave the students opportunities to interact and gain knowledge on what to do as an audience member and hope for the future in their potentially joining the Peacock Bands. Very proud of Mr. Ranz.
Any parent or community member may recognize a staff member through the nomination form below. Board Salute nominations are reviewed monthly and announced at our Board of Education meetings.
