ROCK'in Weekly Update
Message from Split Rock Elementary School Principal
It has been a great week at โThe Rock!โ Our Wildcats continue to impress us with their work ethic, enthusiasm, and undeniable Wildcat spirit.
Today, our Grade 3 students had the opportunity to experience the world of Orchestra through the "Strings Around The World" presentation. I have no doubt many will come home excited about the chance to participate next year!
As I type this, we are gearing up for our St. Baldrickโs Fundraiser. We are looking forward to performances by The Francis Academy of Irish Dance and the Syracuse Pipe Band before the head-shaving ceremony. Be sure to check next weekโs blog for pictures and a full recap of the incredible experiences our Split Rockers had!
Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend, and we look forward to seeing our Wildcats back on Monday!
BE AWESOME!
Mr. Kimpland

Miss Giannino's ADA-PEP Counselor News
For the next few weeks I will be visiting all classrooms to teach Social Emotional Learning lessons (SEL). I plan to visit each classroom once or twice for a 30 minute lesson.
Kindergarten through second grade will learn all about different feelings and emotions. These grades will also learn about coping skills and strategies they can use when experiencing specific feelings/emotions.
Third and fourth grade classrooms will follow the Botvin LifeSkills Training Elementary School Program. More information on this program can be found by clicking here.
Any questions please contact me on Parent Square, email or phone.

Notes from the Nurse
Warmer Spring weather is near but we certainly are still enjoying the snow! Please make sure to send your child to school in appropriate attire: jackets, hats, gloves, boots and sneakers to change into. With the ground still snow covered and wet, I have had an influx of children coming in with wet clothing from recess asking for a change of clothes. I have very limited supply on hand due to not getting those items returned - please ensure your child has a change of clothes they can store in their locker.
In regards to my limited supply of clothing - I am seeking donations of any new or gently used clothing, especially pants of all sizes. Please reach out to me if you have any items!
In general, your child should be without fever, vomiting, or diarrhea for 24 hours with no use of medication, before they return to school.
Medications: Just as a reminder, medications should be hand-delivered to me by a parent along with the proper orders from your child's medical provider and a form we will complete together. I have found a few recent cases of children bringing in medications in their backpack which can be unsafe if they are accessed without an adult present. Thank you for your cooperation. Feel free to send me a message on ParentSquare, via email at bhind@westgenesee.org, or my office at 315-487-4658 to arrange.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to me anytime with any concerns.
