Exciting News: Girls on the Run Spring Season at Claymont!
Dear Claymont Families,
We are thrilled to announce that the Girls on the Run spring season will begin the last week of February and run through the week of April 14th! This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to build confidence, foster friendships, and stay active while having fun.
Our dedicated coaching team—Heather Horne, Marrisha Pyle, Jordan Ismail, and Rory Gulotti—will be leading practices on Mondays and Thursdays from 3:35 PM to 4:45 PM. Each session will have two coaches present to ensure a supportive and enriching experience for all participants.
We are excited to support our Girls on the Run as they work toward their goals this season! Additional details, including registration information and program updates, will be shared soon.
Thank you for your support, and we look forward to another amazing season!
This Week's Car Line
Dear Parents,
Due to the current weather conditions and low temperatures, we will be implementing a rotating schedule for the car rider line. Safety remains our top priority, and we are committed to ensuring that all students are safe.
Please be aware that there may be slight delays as we work to keep students indoors and limit their exposure to the harsh weather. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we strive to protect both students and staff.
Thank you for your cooperation and support.
Major Event This Week
Additional Information Attention Claymont Students and Families:
To help make our lunch lines more efficient and ensure every student has a smooth experience during mealtime, we encourage all students at Claymont to memorize their lunch numbers.
Knowing your lunch number helps speed up the process and allows us to serve everyone quickly and accurately. If you’re unsure of your lunch number or need assistance, please speak with your teacher or the cafeteria staff—they’ll be happy to help!
Let’s work together to make lunchtime a breeze. Thank you for your cooperation! 🍎🥪
Family Contact Information
As we progress through the school year, we understand that changes happen. If your contact information—such as phone number or email address—changes, please notify the main office promptly.
Keeping your information up-to-date ensures that we can stay connected and reach you in case of an emergency. It also ensures you receive all important school communications.
Your partnership in keeping our records accurate helps us better serve your family!
Is Your Student a Car Rider?
If you are arriving in a car to drop off or pick up your student, they are a car rider. Please make sure that for safety and clear alignment with our building expectations we are communicating clearly and effectively with our students. There have been a lot students who indicate they are walkers, but who are waiting in the front for their parent and are being picked up in a car. We want students to get home efficiently, but our primary focus is SAFETY! Please assist us with ensuring student safety and assist us in modeling following expectations by joining our car line!
Safety is Our Priority
Parents, parking and releasing your students on Green Street, the surrounding streets, or in the front parking lot is NOT permitted. This is a HUGE safety hazard! Our buses park in the front of our building and dropping your student off there puts them in grave danger, especially when you get out of the car and tell them to do something different from the adults on duty. Additionally, we want to be respectful to our surrounding community and your neighbors by following our systems for dismissal and arrival.
If your student arrives or gets picked up from school via car, utilize the car line. If we see this happening at dismissal you will be asked by staff to please go to the car line. Your student will be at the car line door for pick up.
Did you know that missing just two days per month means a child misses 10% of the school year!? Early dismissals and late arrivals count too😱 and after 8:55 a.m. your student is officially tardy.
Please help us help your student by ensuring they are in the building available for learning each and every day!
We have been doing a grade level attendance race! The grade level to get to the end of the racetrack first wins. Attendance matters! It is important to us that our Claymont Cougars are on time and present each day. When a student is late or absent they are missing valuable instruction time. If your child misses school due to being sick, please send in a note so we can excuse the absence.
