My name is Josh Hughes, and I am the proud new principal of McCullough Junior High! I hope you are having an incredible summer. I just wanted to introduce myself and give a few summer updates as well as some important upcoming dates for the 2024 - 2025 school year. Throughout the year, I will be posting weekly videos called "Hughes Huddle" on our YouTube channel linked above. These are typically short (5-7 minute) videos talking about important items for the week, celebrations, campus updates, and planned events. This also allows you to hear important and pertinent information while you drive, cook dinner, or maybe just out for an evening walk, without having to read through a traditional newsletter. I will also send out newsletters such as this one typically every other week. I look forward to this upcoming school year and can't wait to get started!

• Our office hours this summer are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
• Regular office hours of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday will resume on July 29th.

Please see the chart below for Texas Minimum State Vaccine Requirements for Students K-12. Most of our incoming 7th graders need one or more immunizations prior to school starting in the fall.

Student orientation at McCullough Junior High is scheduled for:

• August 1st for incoming 8th graders
• August 2nd for incoming 7th graders.

Students will be able to pick up their tentative schedules and tour the building. Additionally, parents/guardians can sign up for PTO membership and purchase school clothing/gear. Some Important Notes:

• The child, or the child's official parent/guardian, must be present to pick up materials.
  
• Students' schedules will only be available during their time slot so that the line will move quickly for all.
• For purchase of materials, please note that some areas will be able to accept credit cards and others cash/check. Having both payment options available will make for a smoother experience.
  

Attendance is not mandatory. Should a student be out of town on his/her assigned date and pick up time, he/she can obtain a copy of his/her tentative schedule at:

• Our front desk the week of August 5 during office hours
• During our Orientation Lite the evening of August 5th from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
