Transportation
During the first couple of weeks of school your child’s bus may be delayed picking up or dropping off. The NASD Transportation department asks that you arrive 10 minutes early and wait 10 minutes after the scheduled drop off time. It is not uncommon for school buses to be delayed up to 30 - 40 minutes or more during this time of year. For additional help and contact information please click here: Transportation Guide. Make sure that you download the transportation app. You can set up an account by accessing firstviewapp.com The School Code for Paul V. Fly is (FGAM).
Kindergarten students MUST have an adult waiting for them at the bus stop in the afternoon. Students that do not have an adult waiting for them will be brought back to the building.
Bus Tags
We would like to remind all of our Kindergarten families to please make sure that they notify the bus driver that their child is in Kindergarten.
On Monday we will be providing a bus tag to ALL of the students and would ask that each family help ensure that their child has a bus tag attached to their child’s school bag.
Walkers
If your child is a district designated walker and you chose to pick them up with a car, you must use the carline in the back of the building or pick them up in the main office before 3:00 PM (for an early dismissal).
For safety reasons parents are not permitted to wait on the carline platform.
Nursing Information
If your student requires medication to be administered at school, please contact Nurse Liz at 610-630-0380 x3 to schedule an appointment to drop off medication and physician orders during the week of August 19th. Medications and physician orders can also be brought to Kindergarten Orientation and our Welcome Back event on August 22nd.
Car Rider Procedures
Car Rider Procedures
Our car line “Drop-off Zone” is secured with cones to prevent cars from passing other cars while they are dropping off or picking up their child. It is imperative that if you are using our carline your child is able to get in and out of the car on the passenger side without assistance. If you need extra time while dropping off your child or if your child needs assistance, you will be able to park along the ballfield and walk your child to the drop-off platform. Our goal is to ensure a safe arrival and dismissal process. We anticipate some delays while families become familiar with this new process.
To ensure safe car rider morning drop-off procedures, please be reminded of the following: Drop off begins at 8:47 AM.
Please pull up to the “yellow” zone before your child exits the car.
Please teach your child to unbuckle themselves and open the car door independently.
Students should exit the car on the passenger side and go directly to the sidewalk to enter the building.
When exiting the car rider loop, please maintain a safe speed and be aware of students and other cars.
Students should not wait on the carline/platform until staff arrive.
The car line gate closes at 9:05. Anyone arriving after 9:05 must sign their child in at the main office.
When picking children up in the afternoon: Pick Up begins around 3:20 PM. Pick Up ends at 3:35 PM
Make sure your car rider tag is displayed (Car's rear view mirror) with your child/ren's name ~ bold and neatly written if you have a second tag.
Follow lane assignments
Please pull up in line and your child will walk to your car
You do not need to get out of your car
Please teach your child to buckle their seatbelt themselves.
Students are dismissed when their car is in the “yellow” zone
Please enter and exit the car rider lot in a safe manner.
If you have any questions about the car rider procedures, please speak with one of the teachers on duty.
**If your child needs assistance getting buckled, please pull around to the parking spots by the baseball fields after picking up your child.
