This week we celebrated our scholars for their achievements through the 2nd quarter. Our award ceremonies were held yesterday and today. We are proud of our scholars!

We have two different assessments scheduled for net week. Scholars in grades 3-5 will take our second ILEARN checkpoint next week. This assessment is provided to us by the state department of education and lets us know about your child's progress. The other assessment is the CoGAT. Scholars in grades KDG, 2nd, ad 5th will take this assessment to determine if they may be eligible for high ability placement.

All e-learning assignments are due Wednesday, January 29th. Please have your child complete this work if they have not done so already.

RESCHEDULED: Our next family event has been rescheduled for Thursday, January 30th from 4pm-6pm. PLA@93 will be hosting a Family Science Night. Our STEM teacher, Mr. Cowley, will have multiple activities for families and a presentation for all. We hope to see you there!

Please be aware that as winter approaches we are at risk for severe weather. In the case that school must be delayed or canceled, you can expect the following:

1.) All of the major Indianapolis news stations will be notified to broadcast the cancelation or delay.

2.) You will receive an email from the school notifying you of the cancelation or delay.

3.) Scholars will be provided with work prior to or after the event to complete for an e-learning day.

The John Boner Neighborhood Center provides a plethora of services to families of the near east side of Indianapolis. JBNC offers programs including family housing, financial coaching, employment opportunities, and plenty more! Please check out https://jbncenters.org/ to check out the resources!

Rescheduled: Come and join us on Thursday, January 30th for our first family science night! From 4pm-5pm, join us in the cafeteria for several different science experiments. We will have four stations available and will rotate stations every 15 minutes. From 5pm-6pm, we will all move into the gymnasium where our very own STEM teacher, Mr. Cowley, will be putting on a science show!

President's Day- Monday, February 17th- No School

Spring Parent's In Touch (PIT)- Wednesday, February 26th- E-learning (more info coming soon)

IREAD testing (3rd Grade only)- Monday, March 3rd- Friday, March 14th
