Ensemble Recital Wednesday, 2/26
Leadership Team- We will need help setting up this event right after school. It shouldn't take more than about 15 minutes with everyone's help.
2 Documents, Same Schedule, Different Format

All Brass and Woodwind students should be listed at least once. This performance is a major grade.
Parents, Ensemble Performances are in recital format. They start at 6 pm or 7 pm. Students will be audience members for the other groups during their time block. Parents are encouraged to come enjoy the recital and celebrate your kids' hard work! Ice cream after is always appropriate!
If you are in 2 Ensembles, check for these things:
1. Different Rooms at either time- OK
2. Same Room at either time- OK
3. Different Rooms at Same time- NOT OK- Let Mr. Schroeder know. He will help.
Siblings or Schedule Conflicts- If you want to perform in the same room at the same time as your sibling(s) or have a conflict you want to avoid, you will need to speak with your group about switching. Find a group to switch. Speak with all of those members. Send me an email with the plan. Copy the group leader of the other ensemble. You will need final approval by Mr. Schroeder to make the switch permanent.

We host the 2nd annual NTCA Winter Guard Competition on Saturday. This is a HUGE Fundraiser for TWB and Color Guard and we need all hands on deck to make just as successful as last year.
Wind Symphony at the Meyerson
THAT WYLIE BAND is also hosting the NTCA Color Guard Event at Wylie High School. If you are not a Wind Symphony student or parent, while we love your support, please volunteer at the NTCA Color Guard event. If your volunteer time allows you to also come support us at the Meyerson, please do that too.
Wind Symphony Parents, we look forward to seeing you at the Meyerson. Tickets are $5 at the door. The Full Orchestra performs at 11:15 am, and the Wind Symphony performs at 2:50 pm.
Jazz Band- Doreen Ketchens Concert Tickets On Sale Now!
Doreen Ketchens, one of the greatest living jazz musicians, is coming to Wylie to perform a concert with the Jazz Band! Tickets are on sale now! This event is a full band fundraiser, so please come and enjoy a night of spectacular music!

Student Bus Sign-Up will happen Monday, 2/24 at the beginning of lunch. You will sign up by room number. You can refer to the room list linked below to start planning ahead!

*Please be mindful of Theatre. They will be practicing in the auditorium until 6:25 pm, and we need to wait to enter the Auditorium until they dismiss.

COLOR GUARD
HOSTING NTCA Competition this Saturday (Mar. 1st) - EVERYONE is working
- ALL HANDS ON DECK. Parents, we need you. There are still plenty of shifts left.
- JV Rehearsal 3-4:30ish and performing at 5:45pm - sign up for shifts before/after this time
- Varsity may take any shift - will need more afternoon/evening help
Class Time: Technique is BACK!!
- Mon: Flag technique
- Tues: Saber + Flag block
- Wed: Rifle + Flag block
- Thur: Show day (split JV/Varsity)
- Fri: Full Run Friday (For JV) and making signs for Performance Entry on Saturday
Rehearsals: (Parents! please continue to join us in the final 30min of rehearsals to keep kids on their toes!)

Varsity - Monday 5-8:30pm (Yes, same time as always) and Thursday 5-8:30pm
EVERYONE needs to check equipment tips for re-taping as needed. We have plenty of red to redo saber stripes and rifle bolts.
PERCUSSION

DRUMLINE WORKSHOPS AND AUDITIONS
- First workshop is at the end of March!
- Make sure you have a copy of the audition packet and understand all aspects of the audition. If not, ask a director asap!
- Start working on this with your private lesson teachers now to have the best chances of making the competition group!
- If you did not get a copy of the concert audition etudes last week ask a director for a copy.
PERCUSSION ENSEMBLE SECTIONALS
- ALL sectionals are from 7 - 8:15 AM.
- Communicate (via email) about any conflicts ASAP. Each ensemble only has about 8 rehearsals, so we need everyone present to maximize rehearsal time.
- Our guest artist is Nicholas Rothouse! He is a percussion specialist located in the Dallas area who has played with Tom Misch, Maggie Rogers, and the Kill Tony Band.

The Junior Guard, JV, and Varsity Guards all performed beautifully and were rewarded for their outstanding performances! All 3 Guards had amazing performances this Saturday and walked away with THREE 1st place finishes. Congratulations!

The booster board named the nominating committee at our meeting on February 4. The committee will be chaired by Jason Szafranski, members are Darby Ridgway, Veronica Lucatero, and Carol Vaughn.
