News
Dear Families,
We have been working throughout the summer to provide you with all the information you will need before students come back to school in August. Information will be added to this newsletter as it becomes available. We will send the link out each time something is updated or added. You can also find information by visiting our Back to School Informational Page!
Start & End Times 🏫🕗
Churchill County School District remains committed to providing the best experience for all of our students and families. We have thoroughly reviewed our transportation routes and school start and end times with students and families in mind.
We are making some changes to school start and end times. Our goal is to increase elementary students' instructional time, minimize the time students spend on the buses, and provide a pickup schedule that works for families who have children at multiple schools. We collaborated with our transportation department to reduce the time buses and parents compete for road space to access the schools.
The student end time at each school represents the time students will be available for pickup at their school. We understand that when picking up from multiple schools, children may have to wait for several minutes at their school, and we have plans in place at each school to supervise students while they are waiting. The end time at schools is the start of a window of time that will allow for a quick and safe pickup process.
We hope these changes will help with the traffic flow. We will closely monitor circumstances at each school during the first few months of the school year. If we need to make any adjustments, we will let you know the details before making any changes.
We appreciate the opportunity to work with you and look forward to welcoming your children back to school in a few weeks!
Sincerely,
Derild Parsons
Superintendent
Churchill County School District

🚌 Transportation Registration for the 24-25 School Year
Now Accepting Applications!
ChurchillCSD Families,
We are accepting transportation applications for the 24-25 school year.
Any ChurchillCSD family intending to use district transportation for the 24-25 school year must fill out an application at: bit.ly/CCSD24-25RequestForm
The district will follow current Regulation 5144.1 for all transportation decisions, which includes busing for all COUNTY K-12 students. Students in grades K-8 who live within City limits, and are more than ½ mile from their school, can use bus stops at pre-selected sites.
We also highly encourage all of our families to download the StopFinder app. This app will provide real-time information to parents and school transportation departments. Your child’s safety is paramount. And knowledge – and information – is power. We know that having the most current information is critical. We also all know that schedules and plans change for any number of reasons. But receiving timely updates is crucial for you - which is why we are thrilled to offer Stopfinder to our families again this year.
If you have any questions regarding the transportation application for the 24-25 school year or the Stopfinder app, please email stopfinder@churchillcsd.com.
