State Championship
The Methacton Girls Track & Field team wrapped up their season this weekend at the PIAA State Championship at Shippensburg University. Seniors Summer Mellow & Kenslee O'Donnell and Freshmen Victoria James & Marlie Klein all had the opportunity to compete this weekend. Despite the hot weather, the team brought home 4 medals, broke several school records, finished 7th in the State for AAA Girls, and above all displayed the utmost sportsmanship on and off the track & field.
Senior Summer Mellow medaled in all three of her events. Summer earned 3rd in the 100m dash, 2nd in the Long Jump, and 8th in the 200m dash. In the preliminary trials of the 100m dash Summer ran a 11.86. This broke the previous school record that she held.
Senior Kenslee O'Donnell competed in the 100m Hurdles and was 11th in the preliminary trials with a time of 15.14.
Freshman Victoria James was the only freshman in the State of Pennsylvania to qualify for the Shot Put. Victoria placed 4th overall and threw 39-4! This performance broke the school record and made Victoria the best 9th grade shot-putter in the state!!
Freshman Marlie Klein competed in the 1600m and 800m races. Marlie finished 9th overall in the 1600m with a school record-breaking time of 4:57.24. This time in the 1600m made Marlie the best 9th grade miler in the state!! Marlie finished 14th overall in the 800m with a time of 2:16.36.
All four of these young athletes accomplished so much this season and have so much to be proud of! Congratulations Summer, Kenslee, Victoria, and Marlie!

District Playoffs
After finishing the regular season at 16-4 and winning two games in the PAC playoffs to secure the 2024 Pioneer Athletic Conference Championship, the Warriors moved on to the 6A District One playoffs. Methacton earned the three seed and a first round bye in the 24 team tournament. In the round of sixteen the Warriors would take on North Penn, who defeated Ridley 3-2 on Monday, 5/20. It was a great atmosphere with an amazing crowd at Methacton on Wednesday, May 22. In a pitcher’s duel, North Penn edged Methacton 2-1 to advance to the quarterfinals. Evan Jones pitched beautifully in a complete game effort. Chase McNally had the lone Warrior RBI with a single to score Ayden Fitch.
Congrats to all of the players on a magnificent representation of our school district both on and off the field this spring. Methacton finishes with an overall record of 18-5 and a conference championship. Our end of season banquet is on Thursday, May 30 at Presidential Caterers.
GO WARRIORS!
Boys' Track & Field
State Championship
We would like to congratulate Wesley Conover on his 17th place finish in the 100m prelims at the PIAA state championships. Wes had an outstanding senior season and makes a strong case for one of the best sprinting careers in Methacton history, having qualified for two PIAA State Championships, winning the 100m dash at PACs, anchoring his teammates relay to a school record in the 4x1, and narrowly missing school records in both the 100m and 200m dash, with times of 10.84 and 21.88. Wes, we are incredibly proud of your hard work this season and are excited for what's next!
