Varsity Football to Play on Thursday Night This Week

Hewitt-Trussville Football (3-2 overall; 2-1 7A Region 3) will travel to Huffman (0-5 overall; 0-3 6A Region 6) on Thursday night for a non-region game.

Who: Hewitt-Trussville at Huffman
When: Thursday September 22 7:00pm

Series History:
Thursday's game will mark the 43rd meeting between the two teams. The Huskies hold a 24-18 series lead. HT has won ten straight in the series including a 60-19 win in 2021.

Volleyball Reaches 20 Wins
Hewitt-Trussville Volleyball went 3-1 on Saturday at the Husky Challenge to improve to 20-8 overall on the season. This marks the first time since 7A was created that HT Volleyball has won 20 games in a season.
The Huskies opened the event on Saturday with a 2-0 win over Woodlawn. HT then went three sets to defeat Gardendale. In the final pool play game, HT beat Leeds 2-0. The team advanced to the tournament semifinals where they fell to Oxford 2-1.
On Tuesday September 20, HT will host Oak Mountain in an Area match. It also marks the final home game for the Varsity squad.

Girls Flag Football Wins Area Opener
Hewitt-Trussville Girls Flag Football won the opening Area 14 game of the season last week as they defeated J.B. Pennington 27-7. Deandrea Powell threw four touchdown passes. Hannah Dorsett had 12 catches and three touchdowns. Zaylen Tucker led the defense with seven tackles.
The Huskies will be at home for the fist time this season as they host Southeastern on Tuesday September 20 at 6:30pm. Tickets for Tuesday's game can be purchased via the link below:
MS Football Improves to 4-0

Hewitt-Trussville Middle School Football swept Oak Mountain last Thursday. The 7th Grade Huskies won 50-8. Micah Bromley had 75 yards passing and threw two touchdowns. Sean Sigler had 48 yards rushing and 60 yards receiving.
Armani Freeman led the defense with seven tackles and four assists.
The 8th Grade Huskies won 40-20. Jake Lowery was 21-28 passing for 246 yards and four touchdowns. Riley O'Neil had 105 yards receiving and scored twice. Harrison Malone and Jayden Berry had over 100 all-purpose yards each and combined to score three times.
DJ Hall led the HT defense with five tackles and two sacks.
The Huskies will be on the road Thursday as they take on Liberty Park.
MS Cross Country: Boys 1st; Girls 8th at Oak Mountain Event
The HTMS Cross Country team traveled to Oak Mountain on Friday. The HT Boys finished in 1st place and the HT Girls finished in 8th place.

MS Volleyball Sweeps Thompson
The Hewitt-Trussville Middle School Volleyball teams both defeated Thompson last week 2-0. The Huskies will be back at home this Wednesday as they host a tri-match with Simmons and Mountain Brook.

Middle School Track & Field Signups
Sign-ups for middle school track and field are starting! Click on the link below to complete the Google Form for sign-ups. Emails will be sent to parents as we get closer to the start date. Important facts for the upcoming seasons are listed below.
- The start date for indoor track and field is November 7th.
- The start date for outdoor track is February 6th.
- A parent meeting will be held at the middle school prior to the indoor season starting.
- Uniforms must be purchased before the season starts to ensure they are on time for the first meet. An email will be sent out regarding when and where those can be purchased from.
