FMS September 2024 Newsletter
Rise to the Challenge Newsletter
This school year is off to a great start! I cannot tell you how exciting it is to go into classrooms and see teachers presenting engaging lessons and students mastering new concepts. I want to take this opportunity to thank you, the parents and guardians of our students, for stepping up to the incredibly important role you play in making your childβs education a reality. Nothing productive can happen at school without your support at home. Obviously making sure kids get enough sleep, eat well, and get to school on time are all essential. But I feel the biggest positive impact you make on these kids is helping them to understand just how important their education is and encouraging them to give it their best effort each day. It is no secret that students who value education have parents who value education and support their kids. As this year progresses, you will hear more from the Floresville Middle School teachers and staff on a regular basis. At all times, please remember to check regularly in Skyward (and be sure your kids know you check) for the details on their grades and attendance, including tardies. Working together with the success of every student our focus, I am confident that we will help each of them to βRise to the Challenge.β

FLORESVILLE MIDDLE SCHOOL CORE ETHICAL VALUES
TRUSTWORTHINESS ~ RESPECT ~ RESPONSIBILITY ~ FAIRNESS ~ CARING ~ CITIZENSHIP
This month, weβre focusing on empathy and challenging students to make sure that everyone they interact with feels seen, heard, and valued. We are partnering with you to grow and develop empathy in your student at home. As a family, use these activities to reflect on and better understand the needs of others.

Attendance
Arrival and Dismissal Procedures
The safety and well-being of our students are always our top priorities. To ensure a smooth and secure morning and afternoon dismissal, please take a moment to review the updated procedures and map (Click on Map for Procedures).
When dropping off your child in the morning there are two lanes. OUTSIDE lane is used for dropping students off. INSIDE lane is for vehicles that will park in the designated areas.
At DISMISSAL, if you enter the gated area prior to the gates being closed (staff makes every attempt to have gates closed) at dismissal, gates will not be opened until after 5 pm when all the buses have picked up students.
- Bus lanes are ONE WAY traffic ONLY.
**These safety measures are to ensure the safety of students and staff and not put in place for convenience or inconvenience, thank you for your understanding**
