Fall Picture Day is TODAY - Oct. 14
We are excited to announce this year's picture day on October 14, 2024. We are partnering with Strawbridge to bring you the best quality photos. These photos will be used in infinite campus and the yearbook, so children are encouraged to dress to impress. We ask that students avoid wearing hats or covering their faces as these cause shadows and encourage students to avoid spaghetti straps. If your child is unable to attend this picture day, we will offer at least one more opportunity for retakes.
Join our Counselors for Coffee - Oct. 17
Q1 Star Card Celebration Day - Oct. 17
We're excited to announce that students who have demonstrated excellent behavior this quarter will be rewarded with a special ice cream celebration during lunch on Thursday, Oct. 17th. This honor is reserved for those who have received three or fewer Star Card marks during the first quarter, showcasing their commitment to our STAR values.
We believe it's important to recognize and encourage positive behavior. This celebration is our way of acknowledging the students' efforts in creating a respectful, inclusive, and productive learning environment.
Online Learning Day / Parent Teacher Conf. - Oct. 18
Friday, Oct. 18th is an online learning day in order for teachers to hold conferences with parents/guardians of students who have presented some academic and/or behavioral struggles within the first quarter of the school year. For students struggling in two or more classes, teachers will be reaching out to schedule a virtual or face to face conference to discuss interventions and supports. If you do not receive a request from one of your student’s teachers for a conference, then your student is showing appropriate progress in their courses.
Also, please note that Monday, Oct. 21 is a student holiday!
PTSO Ice Cream Fundraiser - Oct. 31

Costumes for a Cause - Oct. 31
A Message from LMS administration and SRO Barger
We urgently need your cooperation to ensure the safety of all our students:
- Please slow down in the school zone. The speed limit is there to protect our children.
- Never pass a stopped school bus that is loading or unloading children. This is illegal and extremely dangerous.
Our students' safety is our number one priority. By following these rules, you play a crucial role in keeping all children safe.
A Reminder about Cell Phone Use
We wanted to take a moment to clarify when, where, and how students are allowed to use their phones at Liberty. Cell phones are allowed in the cafe and gym before the 8:50 AM morning bell and after the 4:15 PM dismissal bell. Between the hours of 8:50 AM and 4:15 PM, cell phones should be kept in lockers at all times; however, students may check their phone at every locker break. Cell phones are not permitted in class, hallways, or lunch unless teacher permission has been granted. We understand parents may need to contact their student during the school day for transportation changes and other important messages. For this reason, we allow students to send and/or receive text messages from their parent/guardian before the 8:50 AM bell, after the 4:15 PM dismissal bell, and at every locker break. Students must be at their locker when using their phone and may not walk up and down hallways with the phone in hand. Once a text message has been received and/or sent, the phone must go back in the locker prior to going to the next class. Using phones for video recording, photography, making or receiving phone calls, or accessing social media platforms is not permitted at any time while on school campus.
Neptune Navigate
Dear Parents,
Raising kids in this digital age is challenging. At Liberty, we place a high priority on keeping your children safe and equipping them with the tools to become responsible digital citizens. That’s why Forsyth County Schools has partnered with Neptune Navigate, an engaging and comprehensive program that teaches students how to be good digital citizens and stay safe online.
Starting this week, we will be rolling out Neptune Navigate lessons in Literacy, Enrichment, and Georgia Studies. The curriculum covers essential topics: Digital Citizenship, Cyberbullying, Digital Footprint, Social Media, Media Literacy, Privacy and Cyber Awareness, and Tech Laws.
We also want to extend this learning to your home. Neptune Navigate provides a valuable resource for parents called “Continue the Conversation,” which includes a short video summarizing the critical information from each student module. We encourage you to use this resource to further discuss these important topics with your child. You can access the "Continue the Conversation" module for parents here: https://neptunenavigate.com/ctc/.
We are committed to helping your children become knowledgeable, safe, and responsible digital citizens. Thank you for partnering with us in this effort.
