Millswood Middle School News:
Student Leadership News:
Our club snowman competition is underway! We can't wait to see the snowmen that our clubs create!
- Thank you to all the students who purchased Thankful Grams last week. These will be distributed 6th period on Tuesday. If you missed this opportunity, we will also be selling Merry Mail in a few weeks!
- When did your student last complete a reward card? We are continuing to award Grizzlies who put forth great effort on campus with reward cards signatures. As students fill up their cards, they can turn them in for a prize at the office. Then, each Friday we reward one student in each house with a gift card. At the end of the quarter, all of the reward cards are combined for a grand prize raffle. This week's winners are Josh M., Aaliyah C., Chloe A., Elliot P-M., Jordynn V., Xander V., Abigail J., and Charlotte M.
From Our Teachers:
Through dialectical journals, students in Mrs. Esguerra's ELA 7 classes are actively engaging in academic discussions and citing appropriate textual evidence to support their reasoning in their novel unit of The Giver.
Students in Mrs. Esguerra's ELA 7 classes cozied up with their blankets and flashlights to enjoy their reading of the novel, The Giver.
From Our Counselors-
-Over the next two weeks, Mrs. Gonzalez will be visiting 7th grade ELA classes to present on why grades matter, how to calculate GPA, and how to read a transcript. Challenge your student to practice what they learn at home by showing you how to find their GPA using their current grades in Aeries.
-On November 26th all 8th grade students will hear a presentation in PE about grades, promotion, how to read a transcript and preparing for high school.
-The Anxiety Relief For Teens group meets every Tuesday at 7:40am. Students will learn effective strategies to deal with anxiety, stress and negativity. If you are interested in having your child participate, please contact Mrs. Kemp, counselor.
-A new student club is starting up! The Creative Journaling Club meets every Friday morning at 7:40am in the library. All students are welcome to attend. Bring a notebook or journal to get started in learning creative ways to document your life through art. Contact Mrs. Kemp, counselor, for more details.
