Fall 2023 Senior Thesis Surveys MS

You are being invited to participate in a research study titled The Effect of Construction on Middle Tennessee's Wetlands. This study is being done by Alisa Rowell from Central Magnet School. The goal of this study is to discover the impact that construction on wetlands is having on the water quality of those wetlands. By completing this thesis, more attention will hopefully be brought to the issue of Tennessee's rapidly disappearing wetlands.

This survey is for any Central Magnet School students, middle and high school, who had an imaginary companion as a child. By filling out this form, you are consenting to the use of data collected in this survey in Jenna Martin's senior thesis. All responses will remain anonymous.

The goal of this research study is to examine how labeling homeless individuals as "veterans" or "pet owners" changes the way in which high school students view them in terms of how willing students are to come in contact with the individuals, how dangerous they believe the individuals are, how deserving they are of public assistance, and if they are to blame for their situation. By identifying how labels affect perception, this study hopes to show better ways of representing the homeless in media and discussions in order to increase sympathy and support from the public.

Immigrants require assistance when adapting to the United States, and there is not a mobile program which gathers and provides information and communication services targeted towards immigrants living in Middle Tennessee. To create a program to help immigrants in Middle Tennessee adapt to the United States, the information from this survey will be used to design a prototype version of a program that would provide relevant and accurate communication and information services to immigrants.

The aim of this project is to determine the frequency and level instances of racial insensitivity and tension occur at. You will be asked various questions regarding your observation of racially tense or insensitive moments.
