CATHOLIC EDUCATION SUNDAY
We recognize Catholic education as a gift – a gift that we treasure and protect. On Catholic Education Sunday, we acknowledge the value and blessing of our Catholic schools and give thanks for the faith-based education they offer. Here in Alberta, unlike some other provinces, we are especially blessed to have a publicly-funded Catholic education. Let us continue to pray for this wonderful gift.
We celebrate the gift of Catholic Education on Sunday, November 26. Our school will be represented at the 9:00 AM Mass at St. Albert Parish and Mrs. Giacobbo & Mrs. Michael will be teaching Children's Liturgy that day - please join us to celebrate Catholic Education together and fellowship after!

We invite you to participate in our engagement initiative: "Programming and School Configuration: A Conversation with Our Communities." Your input is pivotal in making informed decisions that will enhance our schools.
Share your thoughts on program and grade configuration. Here are a few ideas that have come up so far from student engagement, the online workshop and data pulled from the engagement platform:
- Ringette Academy
- Nature School, not just for Kindergarten
- Lots of feedback on current and potential grade configurations
- Technology Programming
- Gaming Programming
- And more...

Blanket Exercise for GSACRD community
Arts and Heritage Foundation St. Albert
- Who: Parents, Staff, Board of Trustees
- When: November 22nd at 6-8 p.m.
- Where: St. Albert Catholic High School
- RSVP: RSVP before 4 pm on Friday, November 17th, 2023.
*Maximum number of participants is capped at 35. First come, first serve - participants will receive a confirmation email.
In 1996, Indigenous Elders worked with Canada’s Aboriginal Rights Coalition to write the original script for the Blanket Exercise. The program is an interactive way to learn more about Canadian history, particularly the First Nations, Métis and Inuit perspectives that have not been regularly taught or discussed. The script has been updated to include local history in partnership with Michif Cultural Connections.
We can go up to 35 people.
Once we have 35 registrants, the session will be full. Participants will be contacted with a confirmation email.
*All interested parties will be contacted to inform you that the session is full. If interested, please email Christina MacKinnon before 4 pm on Friday, November 17th, 2023. cmackinnon@gsacrd.ab.ca
