Shout Outs from Parents & Students
Please use THIS LINK to provide a shout-out to a staff member who deserves a pat on the back!
Ms. Cox: We took a vacation day that was also a test day. Of course, we’d already paid for the vacation and it was non refundable! My kid was a little freaked out about missing the test. Thanking Mrs. Cox for being so kind to meet him at 7:30 am, prior to school hours, so he could take a make up test and keep up with his workload! Your flexibility and patience are key to my child’s academic success in ELA this year! Thank you so much!!!
Ms. Sheppard: I appreciate the detail emails Ms Sheppard sends with clear instructions and making kids organised and responsible.
Mr. Dama: Mr. Dama is a great teacher. My son is loving math because of him. He is very kind and he makes sure the students understand the material. He is meeting with students two days a week (outside school schedule) for extra support, this is very kind from him and also this is an example of how much he cares about his student! We need more Mr Dama's in our schools!
Mrs. Crust is PAWS-itively amazing! She is an incredible leader and mentor to the ELA department and so many new teachers. Whenever I have a question or need to bounce an idea, I know I can always turn to Gail! Taylor Road is so lucky to have Mrs. Crust.
Eagle Scout Project Benefits TRMS
To earn Eagle rank in Scouting, every scout must complete a service project that benefits their community. The project must be funded by donations, and the scout has to lead a team of volunteers to get it done.
Dhruv Rastogi contacted Mr. Parker about doing my service project to help the special education department here at Taylor Road. He attended Taylor Road and felt that helping the AU students was the best way he could give back to his community. With Mr. Parker's help, he met with Mrs. Rissland, Ms. Sanders, and Ms. Byrd, and after some discussion, they decided that the gaga ball pit was the best way that I could serve their needs.
Over the next few months, he planned the project and had it approved by his troop leaders. Finding support was easy, though, because everyone wanted to help our cause. In the end, he raised over $2000, and on Saturday, September 7th, he and a team of about 30 volunteers constructed the pit. Last week, he went to visit the wonderful teachers in the TR AU program and was able to see that all of their efforts were more than worth it.
A huge thank you to all of you at Taylor Road for your support in this project!

If there is an interruption in benefits or no reapplication is received, the household will be responsible for meal payments until the new application is approved. To ensure uninterrupted benefits, households must complete an online application before September 18, 2024, at www.fulton.nlappscloud.com, or submit a paper application to the school cafeteria manager by September 16, 2024.

September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month.
According to the CDC, suicide is among the leading causes of death for people ages 10-66 and is the second leading cause of death for young people ages 10-14. Despite being a leading cause of death, suicide it is preventable. During this month, our school will be drawing attention to the problem of suicide and advocating the prevention of this tragedy. We encourage our students and families to participate in Suicide Prevention Awareness Month. School Counselors and School Social Worker will be sharing resources and activities (such as our SOS Signs of Suicide Program) throughout September to bring awareness to suicide prevention. The awareness generated this month has the potential to have an enormous impact on our school community, even the chance to save a life.
Thank you for supporting this initiative and continuing the conversation at home with your students.
