Extras, Expectations, Etc.
Here are a few HIGHLIGHTS of consistent expectations that we should maintain that frequently come up. Many of these items are in our student handbook.
- No Hats - Students should not be wearing hats in the building, unless this is part of a class reward/holiday celebration.
- No Toys at school - this includes recess. If a student brings a toy to school:
- First time, ask to put in locker
- Second time or if brought out after told to put away, teacher takes it and returns to student at end of the day to take home. Parent contact to make aware of 2nd time and what will happen if continues.
- Third time, take and keep until parent comes to pick up or 5 days and then send home with student.
- Fourth time+ - Refer to SSC
- Medication - All medication, including cough drops, must be processed through the office. Students should not be managing/taking medication on their own without the proper clearance.
- Birthday Invites - Whole class only.
- Lockers - Please work with your students to do your best to fit everything in their lockers and keep the hallways clean. This year with the lockers wider, we should not see anything on the floor, except for shoes being stored under the lockers - neatly!
Please take a moment to review the Student/Family Handbook so you are aware of its contents/expectations.
