From the Principal's Desk—
Hello Hilltopper Families:
I had a fantastic time at the second and third grade holiday concert last evening! The students truly shined, filling the auditorium with festive music and holiday cheer. From their joyful singing, festive outfits and bright smiles on their faces, it was clear how much they enjoyed sharing their hard work with everyone in attendance. The concert was a beautiful celebration of the season and I couldn't be more proud of how well the students performed!
A special thank you goes to Mrs. Puterbaugh, our amazing music teacher, for all her hard work in making the concert such a success. She worked tirelessly with the students to ensure they were well-prepared (despite a few snow day interruptions), and her enthusiasm and creativity made the performance extra special. We are so grateful for her dedication to our students and her passion for music.
In addition to preparing for the concert, our students have been working hard on their winter benchmark assessments. They put forth their very best effort, approaching each task with focus and determination. With all of the distractions present at this time of year, it is impressive to see the dedication and perseverance in our students everyday! It’s amazing to see how much they’ve learned and how they continue to grow. Have a wonderful weekend!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Makee

Park Clinic Corner
PSA: Girl's pants needed (leggings, jeans) in all sizes!
Hello Parents,
I can't believe we are in the holiday season already!
The clinic has been a busy place! We are glad to take care of your children. If you feel your child is ill, it is best to have the child stay home. If you do send your child to school, please know Mrs. K and I will try the interventions we have in the clinic before calling you (a cold drink of water, a short time of rest, a dissolvable mint, saltine crackers, ice pack).
We typically call parents with every 2nd visit of the day, fever, vomiting, injuries, or anything following the school health guidelines.
We are seeing influenza, RSV, and mycoplasma pneumonia in the community. Please review with your child proper cough/cold etiquette, handwashing, and how to properly blow their nose.
Just a little winter weather reminder: Staying warm is one of the most important health tips for parents in the winter. Going outside to play with friends or enjoy the snow can help kids form lasting and positive memories, but it is crucial that you dress them appropriately for the weather. A good rule of thumb for dressing children for very cold weather is to put them in one more layer than you would for yourself. So, if you wear three layers to go outside, you should dress your children in four.
The first layer should be thin and breathable to prevent children from getting too hot as they play outside. A middle layer should be a warm and cozy jumper or hoodie that will keep their body heat in. The final outer layer should be a winter coat, ideally, one that is wind and waterproof. Warm and sturdy high-quality hats, shoes, gloves and scarves are also crucial to keep your children happy and warm.
As always, feel free to call us if needed.
Happy Holidays !!
