A Hard Goodbye
Dear Families,
It is with a heavy heart that I have to let you know that this will be my last week as the principal at Stottlemyer. I have accepted a position supporting social emotional learning for all children birth-5 in Wayne County. While I am very excited about this new adventure, I will miss everyone here at Stottlemyer very much. You are, however, being left in very good hands! My replacement, Ms. Jennifer Page will be starting in two short weeks and she is eager to pick up where I have left off and continue to support Stottlemyer and our families. If you should have any immediate needs before she starts feel free to reach out to Johnathan Prevost, our secretary, and he will get you in touch with the interim administrator.
It has been my very great honor to work here with this incredible staff and families. You have some truly special children and they are very lucky to be in such a wonderful and supportive school environment.
Goodbye for Now,
Kelly Anderson, Ed.D
Quick Updates
Tomorrow: Jan 30th, we will host voting at Stottlemyer. Our gym will be used for voting throughout the school day. Security will be present to help support our students safety throughout the day. Please be very careful in the parking lot in the morning as it is likely to me more crowded than usual.
February break is Feb 19-23, there is NO SCHOOL this whole week.
Attendance Policy
Regular attendance is crucial for your child's academic success. Please make every effort to ensure your child attends school on time every day and stays throughout the whole day. Consistent attendance throughout the school day allows your child to engage in learning and maximize their educational opportunities fully.
Illness: If your child is not feeling well and cannot attend school, please notify us immediately. Students who are ill should not attend school to prevent the spread of illness to others.
Excused Absences: We understand that there may be instances when your child needs to be absent due to illness, medical appointments, family emergencies, or other legitimate reasons. Please notify the school in advance whenever possible to classify the absence as excused.
Unexcused Absences: Unexcused absences negatively impact your child's education. Absences without valid reasons will be considered unexcused, and appropriate actions may be taken per district policy.
Timely reporting of absences helps us maintain accurate attendance records and ensures that your child's absence is properly documented. Absences must be reported within 24 hours.
There are two convenient methods for reporting your child's absence to facilitate efficient communication and accurate attendance records.
You can notify your child's teacher via DOJO
You can report absences directly to the office via phone call 734-419-2630
Thank you for your ongoing support in creating a positive and productive learning environment for all our students.
