504 Information
Teachers, if you have a 2nd semester student in your classroom with a 504 plan, please let the chair know and they will get you a copy of that student’s 504 plan.
The 504 chairs are:
9th: Derek Wright
10th: Ira Jenkins
11th: Whitney Decaminada

To check if a student has a 504 plan, click on the yellow “M” triangle next to the student’s name on your roster and it will read “Student has a 504 plan”. NOTE: not all students with a yellow “M” have a 504 plan.
Office 365 workshops
There are some Office 365 workshops coming up in the next two weeks that still have some openings. These are full day classes and are titled Microsoft Innovative Educator Academy. If interested you can register in the Instructional Technology catalog in Edivate. There are two different classes for elementary level and one option for MS/HS.
If you cannot attend and are looking for more information about Office 365, you can always visit this training site in the FCS employee portal.
CTAE and health classes learned hands-on about safety and took a formative assessment at the end

Want to sponsor a new club at AHS?
Weight Watchers at AHS
New Year, New You!
Interested in getting a healthy start to the new year? Dr. Kersey has agreed to support another At-Work Weight Watchers Group and she will be sponsoring a drawing for 2 free memberships! You could be the lucky winner!
We are looking for a minimum of 15-20 interested staff members. It’s so convenient! Private weigh-ins and meetings are right here on campus. Our last session was held Wednesday mornings, 7:15 AM weigh-in, 7:30-8:00 AM meeting. We have this timeframe available to us again this semester.
Cost depends on you! The more members we register, the more weeks we get for less! Plus, you could win one of those free memberships!
If you are interested in this exciting opportunity, please contact Tanoni Houston at houstonta@fultonschools.org by Friday, January 20th. Once we have received confirmation of interest from 15-20 members, we will host an Information Session to meet the leader and officially register with Weight Watchers. Great ideas, great comradery, and getting healthy too! Join today!

Quote for the week
"Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending."
Raider "Balance Days" for 2017 - mark your calendars!
We want to create a community filled with more balanced lives. The School Governance Council proposed a solution, and the Instructional Leadership Team agreed; thus, we have declared two nights a semester during the 2016-17 school year as "Balance Days."
February 15th
March 15th
The nights above are Wednesday nights the week of the 17th (to celebrate the class of 2017), and on these nights there will not be any homework assigned, no assessments will occur the next day, and no AHS meetings will be scheduled.
The idea is that Raiders will go home right after school and work to create balance in their lives. Staff members and students alike will take a night off. Club sponsors and coaches and directors may hold meetings and practices and games as needed. We feel students release stress through these extracurricular activities.
Please plan to enjoy yourself and work your assessments around these dates this year.
