Miss Maddie's First Newsletter
It's been a bit, hasn't it? I hope that you can forgive us for the delay in newsletters as we got our feet under us in the wake of recent changes! Andy, Aubrey, and I are steadily holding down the fort and we are ever so grateful for your kindness. I will do my best to continue to bring this newsletter to you on a weekly basis in order to keep you up-to-date on library happenings!
I'd like to say that winter is inching closer, but it appears that the cold weather has well and truly arrived! I know that getting the whole "fam" all bundled up and out into the windy world can be quite the endeavor and I appreciate each and every one of you who braves the cold to come and visit us. As we adjust to sweater-weather, if you're feeling generous, please keep in mind our Giving Tree box, located just across from the Circulation desk (right in front of the Youth Services workroom - where you often see us disappear). The library will be collecting hats, gloves, mittens, scarves, and similar cold weather accessories until December 23rd! These items will be donated directly to Family Promise of Hendricks County for those in need.
Thank you all again, for everything that you do and for the many smiles you grant us.
Yours,
Maddie Feuquay

Juvenile Fiction (JF KIM)
This is the story of Sunny Park, a seventh-grade student at Ranchito Mesa Middle who loves the K-pop band Supreme Beat, hanging out with her cool grandma, dancing when no one is watching, snacking on shrimp chips, and being there for Bailey, her best friend since third grade. When Bailey decides that she and Sunny should audition for the school dance team in a ploy to parent-trap Bailey’s divorced mom and dad, Sunny agrees even though the thought of performing in public makes her pits sweat. After all, she’d do anything for Bailey. In a twist of fate, Sunny makes the team and Bailey doesn’t, and when Sunny reluctantly joins, it’s the start of a painful and drawn-out parting of ways for the two girls. As Sunny takes her first steps out from behind her friend’s shadow, she’ll have to figure out who she wants to be when she’s in the spotlight—and who she wants dancing alongside her.
Juvenile Nonfiction (J 508.092 WIN)
When billy barr came to the mountains as a young man, his only companions were a skunk and a pine marten. He needed something to fill the hours. So he began measuring the snow that fell. Day after day, and year after year, he measured.
As he grew older, he noticed something: the snow was disappearing. It arrived later, melted sooner, and there wasn’t as much of it. He shared his records with a local scientist, who shared them with other scientists, until his measurements were used by scientists all over the world studying climate change. Thanks to his curiosity, groundbreaking data was gathered that still helps us today!
Juvenile Graphic Novel (JGN EBR)
In the town of Little Spittle, dinosaurs and cowgirls live in harmony. Abigail, who has always dreamed of becoming a detective, lives on the outskirts of town with her pet dinosaur Rootbeer. Meanwhile Clementine, daughter of the sheriff, was born into the life of fighting crime.
But when the Bandit Queen gets a hold of some dark magic, the town and the sheriff are nowhere to be found. It’s up to Clem, Abigail, and Rootbeer to team up, defeat the Bandit Queen, and save their beloved town from bandits, dinomagik, and undercover attacks.
In a hilarious tale of two unlikely friends, Clem and Abigail show us how to be our authentic selves while simultaneously kicking some butt.
