OLVCS Updates
April 25th, 2024
Dear OLVCS Parents and Friends,
Yesterday was Administrative Professionals Day. I cannot let the day pass without expressing my gratitude to Mrs. Cawley, Mrs. Weber, and Mrs. Houtz. It is easy to see their impact each and every day. They assist students, faculty, families (and me) with grace and care. The school would not run smoothly, if at all without them.
We have included Mrs. Vendemia in our celebration this week. She has done an outstanding job with social media, the Walk-A-Thon and Trivia. Her impact has been great this year, we are thankful and blessed that she has joined our team.
Next Tuesday we have a photo shoot to create a promotional video. This one minute video will be included on the Centre County website, and will be ours to use as we see fit. We will follow the Permission to Photograph/Videotape Form that you filled out when you enrolled your child. No child will be speaking or filmed individually. Centre County is still building the site, however, you can see it here. Centre County Gov.
Make it a Great Day!
Samantha

We need your help! This annual event consists of fun, outdoor stations in the morning. The K-4 students will be at stations in the back of the school, and 5-8 will have their stations in the front. Parent volunteers are needed for 'running' the stations, as classes rotate through. No experience necessary!

Eucharistic Procession on the feast of Corpus Christi - Saturday, June 1st
There will be a Eucharistic Procession on the feast of Corpus Christi.
- Directly following the Saturday, June 1st anticipated 5:00pm mass.
- All first communicants are invited to wear their First Communion Attire and march with the procession.
What is Corpus Christi?
Also known as the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, this feast honors Jesus Christ, Really, Truly and Substantially Present under the appearances of bread and wine. This Presence happens through the change which the Church calls transubstantiation (“change of substance”), when at the Consecration of the Mass, the priest says the words which Christ Himself pronounced over bread and wine, “This is My Body,” “This is the chalice of My Blood,” “Do this in remembrance of Me.”
