Kegonsa Family Newsletter
2024 - 2025
November 22, 2024
Dear Kegonsa Families,
This week brought many reasons to smile, including a heartwarming moment that captured the kindness of our students. On his birthday, a group of students surprised our long-time Educational Assistant, Mr. Marsh, with individually packaged brownies as they entered the building. The joy on his face and the thoughtfulness of our students were truly inspiring. I encourage you to check the video out below—it's sure to brighten your day!
We also completed vision and hearing screenings for our Kindergarten, second, and fourth-grade students this week. Thank you to everyone who helped make the process run smoothly.
Looking ahead, please remember that next week is a short week. Classes will be held on Monday and Tuesday, but there will be no school Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday. We hope you enjoy a warm and rejuvenating long weekend with your families. Classes will resume on Monday, December 2.
Thank you for your continued partnership, and have a wonderful weekend!
Warm regards,
💖 Ms. Conrad
🎉 Twin Day Fun! 👯
Students and staff joined in the excitement of Twin Day on Friday! Staff members were randomly paired and dressed as "twins," while students had a blast trying to guess each duo. It was such a fun and creative way to wrap up the week. Thank you to everyone who participated and brought the Blue Gill spirit to life! 💙🐟 Check out these fun photos! 📸

What is the Shining Gilly Award?
The Shining Gilly Award recognizes students who go above and beyond to show exceptional care for others or our school. These students exemplify the qualities we strive to nurture in all of our little citizens—kindness, responsibility, and a positive impact on their community. Whether it's an individual or a group of students, those who receive this award truly reflect the values we hold dear at our school.
Congratulations to Linkon (1st), Clara (4th), Eva (KG), James (3rd), and Skylar (4th)!
Beyond the Bookshelves: Kegonsa Library Updates
Dear Kegonsa Families,
At Kegonsa LMC, our recent focus has been on online safety. Students have been learning in depth about what information is safe to share online and what should stay private, reinforcing essential skills to keep them safe and secure in their digital interactions.
With November being National Native American Heritage Month, we've also taken the opportunity to explore and celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Native American communities.
Our STEAM centers have been buzzing with excitement as we welcomed four new Dash robots and introduced Keva planks to our library centers. We’ve loved watching students build imaginative structures and explore engineering concepts through play—every day brings new creativity!
On November 11, we had the privilege of hosting author Aaron Reynolds! This event was a tremendous success and an unforgettable experience for our students. Aaron captivated us all with stories from his popular Creepy series and other books, sparking a renewed excitement for reading across the school. This visit was made possible by a generous donation from the Working for Kids group and the Public Library, and we are so grateful for their support in inspiring a love of books within our community.
Thank you for your continued involvement and support. We look forward to seeing you at upcoming events and sharing more of our students’ learning journeys!
